EMILY'S POV:

Today was Saturday so we didn't have any classes, thankfully. I got dressed and gave Cedric a kiss before heading to go see Kaitlyn. Theodore stayed with her last night which made me feel good since Theodore has always been nice to her. When I got to the infirmary Theodore was already up. He was sitting next to her bed holding her hand and reading a book. "Good morning Theodore, did you get any sleep last night?" I asked him. "Good morning, and I stayed up for a while since I wasn't very tired but eventually I fell asleep for a couple of hours." Theodore replied. "Any change?" I added. He just looked down at her hand in his and shook his head. "She is strong. She'll make it through and be back giving us hell before we know it." I told him. I tried to stay strong for Cedric and Kaitlyn as they both needed me right now. Why did so much have to happen in so little time? I had no doubt that Kaitlyn would be fine but it was the waiting that hurt the most, the anticipation of when.

Cedric came in not too long after I had gotten there. He brought me a bite to eat and pulled another chair to the side of her bed. "Theodore you don't have to stay, you probably are hungry or want to get some air." I said to Theodore after Cedric sat down. "Oh no I'm alright, I want to stay here for a while longer if that's okay." He replied. "Of course." I nodded. "I don't think I ever noticed how similar you two were." Theodore said to Cedric. "Yeah, she's like my twin that's a couple of years younger than me except I'm much nicer." Cedric replied. "I won't disagree with you on that one." I added with a small laugh. It felt good to laugh again even if it was a tiny laugh. The last two days have been so stressful and upsetting the smallest laugh made me feel a little bit better.

Pansy, Blaise, and Mattheo came in and brought a cup of coffee for Theodore. "Good morning everyone, how's our girl?" Blaise said as he walked towards the side of Kaitlyn's bed. "Morning Blaise. No change yet." I replied. "She needs to come back, I miss her calling us all out, especially Malfoy." Blaise added. "Speaking of Malfoy, has anyone seen him?" Pansy asked. "I haven't seen him since yesterday when he left here." Theodore said. "That's a little strange but it's Malfoy." Pansy said as she walked closer to the bed. "What is that?" Blaise asked, pointing to the journal on the table. "Oh it's a journal that we can write in whenever we want to say anything or tell anything to Kaitlyn, you can use it as if you were talking directly to her. The only thing is when you write, start on a clean page and don't read what the others wrote to her as some will be more personal than others." I told them. "That's really quite smart." Pansy said. You know something is wrong when Pansy and I are standing in the same room and not arguing and at that giving each other a compliment. "May I see that." Mattheo asked, pointing to the journal. Theodore grabbed it and handed it to him as well as the quill and ink.

Dear Kaitlyn,

I wanted to say that I was sorry. I know that I was told there was nothing I could have done but I can't help but feel that if I could have just calmed you down none of this would ever have happened. On the brighter side, everyone has been here for you. Theodore stayed last night with you and I think Emily will probably stay with you tonight. I will be here all day though. I'm not leaving you. I wish you were here making us laugh but I know you will be back soon enough and everything will be good again. You are such a strong person that no one knew anything was wrong until something actually happened. You can tell me anything no matter how dark or twisted or sad it is because most likely I could understand and help you through it to the very best of my abilities. I would do anything to have you back here right now. I try to keep thought of our day in Hogsmeade together when we got butter beers and went into almost every shop down there and you were so damn insistent on buying your own stuff that finally when we got to the jewelry shop and you say that necklace I literally had to carry you out and sneak the money to the cashier to get it sent back here so I could give it to you at dinner. Also when we went flying and it was your first time you were nervous at first but came to really like it. Quite frankly I think your favorite part was splashing me with water when we were flying over the black lake. I won't forget you falling asleep on my shoulder that night while in the common room with our friends. You didn't know this but everyone was talking so highly about you. Like how you lit up any room. Or how you made everyone feel comfortable in your presence. As well as how stunning you are even when you're not trying. Everyone loves you so much and misses you more than I could ever describe so get better soon because when you are better we will all be waiting for you right here. -Mattheo Riddle
