The Diary's of Him and I

Part Ten- Home-Coming.

The following morning we were all up early to go get Kaitlyn from the hospital wing. No one complained about getting up so early. We were all just excited to have her back. Even Draco carried a smile on his face today. That was a shocker, but I guess I shouldn't be so surprised because he sat by her side for hours nearly every day.

We all walked in and there she was sitting up in bed. She flashed her blue eyes our way and a smile grew on her face. She opened her arms basically asking us for a hug and no one denied it. We nearly ran up to her and one by one hugged her tightly. "Don't act so excited, loves, you have to deal with me again now." She laughed. "I think I can speak for everyone that we would rather you be awake bossing everyone around compared to sitting here all hours of the day." Cedric replied giddily. "Where did you get that Ced?" She asked, pointing to a scar on Cedric's hand. "Oh um, it got cut when I was competing in the tournament." "You're a champion? Wait, are they over? Did I miss it all?" "No, No, only one task has finished, there are two left, the next one is after Christmas." Emily said rapidly. "Oh my god, the Yule ball is soon. Like very soon, right?" Kaitlyn started to sound stressed. "You're right. You didn't miss it. It's on Christmas eve." I told her. "And your birthday is in two days!" Blaise mentioned. "Oh right, my birthday I forgot about that, it's not a big deal anyway I've never celebrated my birthday much." Kaitlyn said while putting her head down. "Don't think too much about it right now, let's just get you out of this bloody room and back to your dorm so you can get cleaned up, I'm sure it would make you feel one hundred times better." Pansy added before anyone else could say anything. Kaitlyn nodded to reply. Madam Pomfrey came over in that same minute, "Now Ms. Diggory I've looked over everything and you are good to go but I want to see you back here in a week's time for a check-up and for the rest of you I believe I can hold you to keep a close eye on her for the next few days."

Kaitlyn's POV

I was cleared by Madam Pomfrey to leave but I was a bit scared to stand up since I haven't stood in two months and struggled to simply sit up. "Ready to go?!" Emily asked with a smile. "Um...yeah." "What's wrong?" Cedric asked. He's always been the one to seemingly have to call me out on everything even when I try to hide it. "Nothing, I'm fine." I faked a smile. I pulled myself to the edge of the bed and pushed off...that didn't work. I nearly fell but Cedric was standing right there and caught me. "I haven't stood up in two months." I said, looking at the floor. "Hey, it's okay. Here I'll carry you on my back." Draco said. I missed Draco. I shouldn't say that since he was mean before, but these last two months gave him enough time to come to his senses it seemed. He bent down and picked me up as I wrapped my legs around his waist. That smile never seems to fail at swooning me. "Hey wait." I grabbed Emily's arm and motioned with my eyes over to the bedside table. I remembered seeing Draco's ring sitting there this morning and I didn't want to leave it. She got what I was saying and winked my way as Draco continued to walk out with everyone else. We made it back to the Slytherin common room and then walked up to my room. "Merlin, I don't remember everything being so dusty." I said looking around at the layer of dust on everything. "Sorry, I didn't think to clean up before you got back." Emily said shyly. "Don't worry about it, I'll just do it later." "Kaitlyn's back." Cedric laughed and everyone else followed.

They all sat my stuff down and left so I could get cleaned up, it was only Draco and I left since he was still holding me. "Alright, I'm going to set you down gently, just hold onto me alright." He said softly. "Mhmm." He slowly put me down, as the weight of my body came back to my legs I gripped Draco's arms. "You got it." "Thank you Draco, that was very un-Draco of you." I giggled lightly. "Kaitlyn I'm sorry for the things I said and did, I wanted to apologize but clearly I couldn't under the circumstances." I didn't say anything, just pulled him into a hug. He was hesitant but quickly wrapped his arms around me and embraced me tightly. We sat there just like that for 2 or 3 minutes before I pulled away slightly. "Are you okay to stand on your own?" Draco asked, concerned. "Yes, Draco I'm okay." "Okay well, I will come back in a little bit to bring you lunch and check-in." "You don't have to do that, I can get it myself." "No, just relax today and get better because I'm planning something for your birthday and you have to go." He said with a smirk. Draco Malfoy and his smirk.
