The sound of birds chirping in the distance woke me this morning. I was still wrapped in Draco's arms on his bare body. He looked so peaceful so I didn't want to wake him this early. I slid out of his arms and pressed my feet to the cold ground. Draco turned over to the other side and for a moment I thought I had woken him but he was still sound asleep. I grabbed Draco's sweater from his dresser and a pair of my leggings for my bag to put on. I laughed a bit to myself looking at the clothes thrown on the floor from last night. I went over and picked up my dress and then Draco's suit and laid them over the chair in the corner of the room. As I opened the door I stopped and looked back at Draco for a moment. I don't know why but recently I've been scared I am going to lose him even though I know that he's mine. I don't understand it but it'd be smart not to overthink it so that's what I did. I shut the door silently and walked downstairs. There were decorations from last night being taken down by the house elves until they noticed me. "Ms. Diggory would you like me to make you anything this morning?" Mippy said. "Please Mippy call me Kaitlyn, I was just going to get some tea but I'll make it myself." "If you would like, but it's no problem for nippy herself to do Ms- eh sorry Kaitlyn." "I'm alright Mippy thank you anyways." I gave her a reassuring smile. She nodded in return before going back to taking down the decorations. I walked over to the kitchen and grabbed the kettle from the cupboard and filled it with water. I turned on the stove and placed the kettle to boil. I know I could use magic but it was nice to do some things without magic.

I knew it would take a few minutes to heat up so I walked out to the kitchen to see if the decorations were taken down yet in that room. The second I opened the door my blood ran cold and a chill trailed through my body. "If it isn't Kaitlyn Diggory herself. I see you're not standing behind Draco like a cowardly little girl this morning. " Lucius spoke as he walked towards me. The closer he got the more pronounced the smell of liquor wrenched off his body. "Draco is still asleep so I decided I would come down and make some tea for myself." I swallowed my fear. "So you're a house whore now? A mere servant?" "I come from a well-respected pureblood family though my father isn't known to hit his child as I know you're familiar with, correct?" My words spilled out. FUCK. I couldn't stop them until it was too late. He gripped my arm firmly, pulling me towards him as I winced from the pain of his heavy grip. "Watch your words before your pitiful family loses a child in a tragic accident, and believe me it would be so easy to make this accident happen." Lucius snarled. In perfect timing Narcissa came in "Lucius Malfoy! Let her go now! How dare you put your hands on a child, a girl." "I was just having a little chat with Draco's new whore." He released my arm pushing me back. "You reek of liquor. Go and take a shower and while you're at it try to sober up a bit before returning." Narcissa stepped in front of me. Lucius rolled his eyes and began to walk away. He stopped before exiting and looked me in the eyes. "Oh and Kaitlyn, tell your brother good luck in the tournament for me." He had a vile smile on his face as he walked out nearly slamming the door behind him. "My dear, are you okay? I'm so sorry, what all did he do?" Narcissa rubbed her thumbs over my cheeks. "I'm alright. I had come down to make some tea and I came in here to see if there were any decorations that needed to be taken down though when I entered Lucius was in here. His words were vile but they didn't hurt much." I told her. The truth is, his words did hurt but that wasn't what bothered me the part that bothered me is what he said about my brother in the tournament. I know it was probably nothing but I couldn't help but wonder why his face seemed so...suspicious. Narcissa took her hands from my face and grazed them down my arms. When she hit the spot where Lucius grabbed me a flinched. It hurt worse than it did initially which I assume is from the adrenaline and fear wearing off. "I'm sorry dear. May I." She said pointing to my arm. I nodded. She lifted up the sleeve of my sweater gently to expose my arm. There was a bright red mark around my upper arm with two small cuts from the finger impressions. "Dear God why would he do this?" She looked over the tender skin then wiped the bit of blood off with her sleeve. "I'm sorry Narcissa, I really didn't want to be a bother to you all." I put my head down. "Lift your head up child, you are so very brave for not folding under the hateful words and the immense disrespect. I've never seen that in someone so young though I hoped to never have to." "Thank you Narcissa, and I hope this won't be too much of a bother but could we not tell Draco at least just yet, he was just so happy yesterday and I don't want to upset him right now." "Of course dear, I understand."
