Erik and Christine were walking arm in arm down the streets of Paris. They had just finished having an amazing dinner at a fancy restaurant and were now walking back to Erik's lair. Christine laid her head against Erik's arm as they walked. The smile on Erik's face grew brighter and bigger.
Once they got back to the lair, Erik went over to his piano while Christine went and got a book to read. Erik was writing a song for Christine about their love and life together. He was almost finished with the sing he was writing for Christine and he was going to present the song to her along with another present to go with it. Erik added the finishing touches to the song and then looked over the song. It was perfect.
"Christine, can you come in here please," Erik called out. A minute later, Christine came in and hugged Erik from behind. Erik leaned his head back so he could kiss Christine on the cheek. Christine giggled and sat on the bench next to Erik. "Now why did you call me here," Christine asked looking at Erik.
Erik began to get a little nervous. The little velvet box in his pocket began to weigh a ton, but Erik was able to calm his nerves a little. "I have written you a song," Erik said proudly handing her the sheet music. Christine gasped as she saw the music and began to read the lyrics.
While Christine was reading the lyrics, Erik got up and walked over to the side of the bench where Christine was sitting. Once Christine finished reading the lyrics, she looked up at Erik confused for a second before Erik dropped onto one knee.
"Christine, you are an angel who looked past my ugliness and saw a man. You are my angel of music and love of my life. Would you do me the extraordinary honor of becoming my wife," Erik said as he pulled the ring from his pocket and opened it. Christine had tears going down her cheeks as she nodded her head yes. "Yes, yes, yes, a million times yes," Christine said smiling brightly.
Erik slipped the ring onto Christine's finger and then leaned in and kissed her. She kissed back with so much love and passion that Erik felt on top of the world. They pulled back for air and Christine said,"I love you so much, Erik."
"I love you too, my Christine," Erik said back before he pulled her back for another kiss.
***********
Erik's eyes opened and he sat up in his bed. He reached his arm out to the side feeling to see if Christine was by his side. He looked over and the empty sheets confirmed his thought. "It was all just a dream," Erik said to himself as tears fell from his eyes. "Of course it was. She left with Raoul and she is never coming back," Erik said before crying himself back into a dreamless sleep.
