*Christine's POV*
I feel my grip on my bouquet of red roses tighten slightly. I can't believed the day has finally come, the day I get to marry my angel, Erik. The day we have been planning for about six months, making sure every detail is perfect. I smile as I remember the day Erik asked me to marry him.
*Flashback*
I smile as I look over and see Erik laying on his back next to me, his eyes closed in thought. We are laying outside on a blanket with a small picnic basket sitting on the grass next to the blanket . I never would have guessed that I would be enjoying the time I spend with Erik. I let my wander to the day I began my life with Erik.
About six months ago, he kidnapped me, took me to his lair and forced me to marry him. Raoul came to rescue me, but he was caught in Erik's Punjab. That's when Erik gave me a choice, either I stay and marry him and he lets Raoul go free or I leave forever and Erik kills Raoul. I didn't want my childhood friend to die because of me, so I made my choice to stay with him. Raoul promised to come back and save me, but I haven't seen him since that day.
After Raoul was set free, I went straight into the room Erik had given me and locked myself in. I hoped I would either die in that room or that Raoul would come back and save me. Neither of those things happened. Erik tried to get me out, but I didn't budge. I stayed in the room for about four days before I saw a newspaper being pushed underneath the door. Once the paper stopped moving, I reluctantly crawled over to it and read the headline. I felt sobs rack my body as I read the headline; Viscount Raoul de Chagny is to be wed to Meg Giry. After that day, I began to leave the room for a few hours everyday, which eventually turned into days. Since I locked myself in that room, me and Erik weren't officially married and we really didn't think of it much, our lives are amazing anyway.
I see Erik open his eyes and look at me with love. I gaze into Erik's beautiful golden eyes and see him gaze back into mine. "Why are you looking at me like that," he asks, a little confused, but not complaining.
"Because I love you," I reply simply with a smile.
"I love you too," he says. Then with a serious expression, he asks, "Are you happy living with me?"
I sit up and look at him. "Of course I do," I say. "These past few months have been the best months in my life."
Erik also sits up and seems a little nervous, which confuses me. "Christine, I love you more than anything in the world and you have shown me more love than a monster like me deserves. I know the first time I did this I forced you, but this time, I want to do it right." I watch as Erik reaches into his pocket and pull out a little black velvet box. I instantly know what it is and tears of joy begin to slide down my cheeks. "Christine, will you marry me?" He then opens the box to reveal a beautiful diamond ring. The ring has two woven diamond bands and a diamond in the middle. At that moment, I don't care about the ring.
As more tears slide down my cheeks, I nod. "Yes, yes, and yes," I say.
I see Erik smile and take my left hand. He takes the ring out and slides the ring on my finger. The minute the ring is on my finger, I lean forward and give Erik a kiss, which he returns.
*End of Flashback*
I smile at the memory just as I hear the organ start to play. I take a deep breath and walk out from behind the large wooden doors towards the aisle.
Our wedding is being held in a small church that we found. Since Erik doesn't have many friends, we decided that we would have our closest friends come. Erik invited Nadir, a Persian who he met a long time ago, while I invited Madame Giry, who is also doing the ceremony.
I walk down the aisle in the feeling beautiful. My wedding dress is white with a beautiful, lace top and an simple white skirt. I'm wearing a pair of pearl earnings and necklace that Madame Giry is letting me borrow. Around my wrist a simple silver bracket with a small blue sapphire in the middle. It was my mothers' and my father gave me before he died. It used to be a little big on me, but now it fits perfectly. My curly hair is flowing down my back while the veil sits on top of my head.
As I walk down the aisle, I catch Erik's eyes. He looks back and his eyes widen, causing me to smile more. He looks so handsome in his simple black tuxedo. I watch Nadir adjust Erik's black bow tie, causing me to giggle softly.
Once next to him, he takes my hands and Madame Giry begins the ceremony. She says the opening words and says we can begin the vows. Erik and I both agreed that we wanted to write our vows. I decided to go first because I knew if Erik went first, I would be a bubbling mess by the end.
I take a deep breath before starting. "When we first met, you were my angel of music. I never knew my life would change after I met you. We began to spend more time together and I knew I had feelings for you. And then the night came when I met you in person and I knew I loved you; I was just to naïve to realize them. And these past few months have been the best of my life. But now, I can look forward for the years that will come because I get to spend them with you." I feel a few tears fall down my cheeks as I slide the silver wedding band onto Erik's finger. I look back up at Erik and see him tearing up.
Madame Giry smiles and then looks at Erik, signaling that it's his turn. "Ever since I was little, I was never treated with love and I thought that nobody would ever show me love, until you. You talked to me like a normal person and have always been with me. When we first met, I instantly knew I had feelings for you, but I knew you would never return them. But these past months with you, I have never been shown so much love. I don't know what I did to deserve an angel like you, but I wouldn't change any of it." Erik then slips the other silver band onto my finger. I smile as I watch him, tears still sliding my cheeks. Erik looks up and even he has a tear going down his cheek.
I wipe it away as Madame Giry turns to me. "Christine, do you take Erik to be your husband," she asks.
"I do," I say, smiling.
Then turning to Erik, Madame Giry asks,"And Erik, do you take Christine to be your wife?"
"I do," Erik says.
"Then by the power invested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife," Madame Giry says. "You may kiss the bride."
I smile and wrap my arms around Erik's neck while he wraps his arms around my back. We both lean in and our lips meet. The kiss is amazing and full of love and passion. I know that our love will be like this kiss, full of love and passion, for the rest of our lives, together.
