"Give me the gun, Meg," Erik says, calmly. "Help me see you clear."
"That's all I've ever wanted," Meg says with a tear running down a cheek. Her hand around the gun she has pointed at her head tightens as she sees Erik take a step towards her.
Erik puts his hands up, not wanting to scare Meg. "You feel used, but I can see how beautiful you are underneath," Erik says, taking small steps closer to Meg.
"Yes," Meg says, slowly beginning to lower the gun that's pointed at her head.
"Diamonds never sparkle bright of they set just right," Erik sings one step away from Meg, noticing her grip on the gun loosening. "Beauty sometimes goes unseen. We can't all be like Christine." Erik's hand wraps around the gun in Meg's hand.
Meg's eyes slightly widen after hearing Erik sing that last line. "Christine, Christine," Meg says, loudly. "Always Christine!" The two struggle for control over the gun. Meg's finger finds the trigger and she pulls it.
The gunshot rings through the air. There is a brief silence to see if anyone was shot. Suddenly, Erik gasps and falls, clutching his right side. Christine screams and runs over to him with Gustave close behind. Meg keeps apologizing as she starts walking towards Madame Giry. Christine starts applying pressure to Erik's wound. "Madame Giry, go get help " Christine yells. "Quickly!" Madame Giry nods her head and runs off with Meg right behind her.
Christine has tears falling down her cheeks, a few landing on Erik's shirt as she's applying pressure to the wound. "Christine," Erik says weakly.
"Yes, Erik," Christine says.
"Does Gustave know the truth," Erik asks.
"What truth," Gustave asks, confused.
"Are you sure, Erik," Christine asks.
"Yes, he deserves to know," Erik says before coughing.
"Gustave," Christine starts taking one of Gustave's hands. "Raoul is not your real father. Your real father is here."
"No, no," Gustave says looking at Erik, shaking his head.
"Look with your heart and not with your eyes," Christine sings. "The heart understands, the heart always knows."
"Noooooo," Gustave yells, getting up and running away.
Erik and Christine begin to get up, but Erik falls right back down. Christine catches him and puts his head on her lap as she sits down on the pier, holding Erik close to her.
"Erik, you can't die. You can't leave me," Christine begins to cry. "Things were starting to get better. My life began to have meaning again when I saw you again. We have a son; you can't leave us."
Erik looks up at Christine. "I'm sorry, Christine," Erik says, tears beginning ti form Erik's eyes. "When I heard that you were coming to Coney Island, I knew that this could be my chance to win your love back. And I knew that leaving ten years was mistake and I have regretted leaving every day these past ten years. You're my life, Christine. I began to feel alive again when I saw you."
"Why did I leave all those years ago," Christine sobs. "If I just listened to my heart and stayed none of this would have ever happened."
"Don't cry, my dear Christine," Erik says, raising a shaky hand to wipe a tear from Christine's cheek. "At least I got to see you one last time."
"Don't talk like that," Christine says with a shaky voice. "You're going to live and be with me and Gustave forever."
Erik smiles weakly. "Christine, come closer to me," he says.
Christine moves so that Erik's face is inches from hers and their bodies are close together.
"Remember the song you sang tonight," Erik says weakly. "Love never dies. Will you kisse me one last time?"
Christine gently lifts Erik's mask off his face and presses her lips against his, putting all her love and passion into it. Slowly, Christine feels Erik's lips getting weaker until Erik's head falls back onto Christine's lap. Christine hears Erik breath his last breath and then absolute silence.
"No," Christine says, tears streaming down her face. "No, Erik, come back to me. Please come back. Erik, you can't leave me. We have a son; I can't do this by myself"
Christine lays her head down on Erik's still chest, sobbing. "This is all my fault," Christine says. "If only I had stayed, now the only man I have ever loved is dead."

I'm sorry for all the pheels. I cried writing this, but I watched Love Never Dies recently and wondered what would have happend if Erik got shot instead of Christine. I hope you all liked it though :)
