Christine ran up the stairs that lead to the roof. Raoul was trying to follow Christine, but people kept him from following her. Christine pushes the door open and runs out onto the snow covered roof. Huge, white snowflakes drift through the sky landing soflty.

Christine walks over to a dark stone statue and leans her back on it. Tears begin to stream down Christine's face. "Why would he kill him," Christine says quietly to herself. "Yes, Buquet wasn't the nicest person, but that wasn't a reason to kill him."

Christine looks down at the flower in her hand so see can see it. It was a beautiful red rose and all the thorns were removed from the stem. A black silk bow was tied around the stem with, what looked like, a button covered in tiny diamonds with a small one in the middle.

Rubbing the ribbon between her fingers, Christine realizes that the Phantom cares for her. He taught her how to sing, made sure she had the main role in all the operas, and was always there when she felt alone. "Could I have feelings for the Phantom," Christine whispers softly.

Before she can think about it, Christine hears the sound of snow crunching causing her to look up. A man wearing a white dress shirt and black dress pants walks out from behind a statue, his black cape flowing behind him. The man looks up revealing a snow white mask covering half of his face. It's him; the Phantom of the Opera.

Christine cowers back slightly when he takes a step towards her. Raising his hands up, the Phantom begins to slowly walk towards Christine. He stopped a few feet in front of Christine, who has a few tears falling from her big brown eyes.

"Why," Christine says, looking up at the Phantom more tears threatening to spill over. "Why did you kill Buquet?"

"He was an awful man," the Phantom starts.

"That doesn't give you the right to kill him," Christine yells back, standing straight up."Just because you run the opera house that doesn't give you the right to decide who lives and who dies!"

"You haven't seen the things that man has done," the Phantom snaps back, anger bubbling inside. "He always drank and looked at the ballet dancers while they're changing. Lust," the Phantom took a breath trying to calm himself down,"was always in his eyes whenever he looked at a woman."

Christine knew he was right. She had seen Buquet looking through a hole in the wall one day, knowing that he could see all the dancers chamging. There was always a bottle in his hands and the smell of alcohol always lingered in his breath.

"You're right," Christine whispered. The Phantom looked back at Christine and Christine met his gaze. Christine saw love and compassion in the Phantom's gaze. She knew the Phantom loves her and Christine begins to think she might love him back.

Christine takes a step closer to the Phantom, never shifting her eyes away from his gaze. Christine reaches out her hand and feels the Phantom's gloved hand tense up. Smiling, Christine takes the Phantom's hand, lacing her fingers through his before doing the same to the other gloved hand.

The Phantom looks down and sees Christine's slightly dialated eyes full of kindness and.......love? "Is that love or am I just imagining it," the Phantom thinks to himself. He isn't able to dwell on the thought long because Christine stands on her tip toes before pressing her lips against his.

The kiss was perfect. It was everything someone would expect of a kiss. There was so much love and passion in the kiss. Christine knew then that she was meant to be with the Phantom.

Pulling away breathless, the Phantom pressed his forehead against hers. "What's your name," Christine asked with a small laugh.

"Erik," the Phantom answered. "Erik Destler."

"Erik," Christine said, his name easily flowing from her lips. "I love it."

Erik smiles before looking into Christine's eyes. "Christine, I want you to know that I'm in love with you," Erik says.

"And I want you to know that I'm in love with you too," Christine says before Erik's lips press against hers again.
