Isa felt it instantly.

Felt the hollow feeling of betrayal, sadness and heartbreak course through her. Except the feelings weren't hers. They were Hope's.

Isa sped down to the courtyard just as Hope walked in and the second she met her mother's eyes she burst into tears and Isa enveloped her in a hug.

Isa cradled Hope's head to her shoulder as she held her, letting her daughter cry it out before she asked what happened.

"He kissed her."

"Who?" Isa asked as she pulled back, Hope facing her as her hands rested on her shoulders.

"Carter. He-he- I saw him kissing his ex-girlfriend."

"Aww, Hope," Isa sighed as her own heart broke for her daughter and she pulled her back into a hug. Make no mistake, Isa was furious that Carter, who actually got along fairly well with most of the Mikaelson's, would hurt her daughter as he did.

"What happened?" came Nik's voice, filled with concern and worry and a little bit of apprehensiveness for who or what had upset his daughter. Hope just continued to sob into her mother's shoulder.

And when Hope said nothing he looked to his wife.

"Carter cheated on her. She caught him kissing his ex-girlfriend."

Nik's blood began to boil as he placed a hand on Hope's head, her eyes opening to look at her father.

"Say the word. Say the word and your uncles and I will tear him to pieces. We'll make him know the pain he caused you, all you have to do is say the word."

Hope was still whimpering as she pulled away from her mother.

"You can't kill him. You can't kill him, Daddy, because I love him," she said before she began sobbing again and Nik hugged her.

As safe as Hope felt in her father's arms, it didn't numb the pain of the heartbreak she felt.

"We could still torture him?" Nik offered and Hope's sobs were mixed with laughs as held her father, glad for her parent's attempts at cheering her up, but it just didn't work.

She'd been dating Carter for two years now. He'd attended countless family birthdays and dinners and vacations with her, not to mention the elaborate gestures he planned for their anniversary, her birthday, gestures Hope secretly thought would rival her fathers' gestures for her mother. All of that ruined when she'd spied Carter kissing his ex, telling her that he loved her.

She'd seen them together a couple of times before but Carter was mostly yelling at her to leave him and Hope alone, the girl seeming to instantly dislike Hope just because she was with Carter.

As Nik consoled their daughter, the gears in Isa's mind were turning before the sound of Hope's cries drew the attention of their family.

"What happened? Is Hope alright?" Finn asked for the group of them that came downstairs, him, Katherine, Elijah, Kol, Davina and Freya, all of their kids being with Rebekah, Marcel and Keelin at their house for a massive playdate, with Henrik and Diana helping watch over their younger siblings and cousins seeing as they were the eldest of the present group.

Nik then covered Hope's ears with his hands, trying to block the sound of his wife's answer so she didn't have to relieve it again, but it didn't really work.

But after Isa explained what had happened, you could see the rage take over Elijah, Kol and Katherine, while Davina and Freya held sympathy for the girl.

"That's your scheming face. What are you thinking?" Davina asked Isa who gave her a look.

"I do not have a scheming face," she protested.

"Yes you do, love," Nik smirked before kissing Hope's head as he rubbed her back and Isa glared at him.

"Whenever you're plotting or in really deep thought you scrunch your eyebrows together and twist your wedding rings," Kol explained as he tucked his wife under his arm.

"So, what are you thinking?" Freya asked as Isa turned to her daughter.

"Sweetie, I know you don't want to talk about it, but is Carter's ex-girlfriend human?"

Hope, who was still clutched to her father's chest that was now wet with her tears, shook her head. "She's a witch."

Freya, Davina and Isa all looked at each other as a silent message passed between them.

But Kol, who'd been spending a lot of time with the witches of New Orleans seeing as his wife was Regent of the nine covens, had also seemed to follow Isa's train of thought.

"You don't think..." Kol began before trailing off.

"I think this is a job for the Mikaelson sisters," Davina smirked, proud that that was her last name, prouder still to be a part of a group of such powerful women.

"Are you implying that the Mikaelson brothers can't handle the situation?" Finn questioned.

Isa broke into laughter, Hope even giggling in her father's arms as he playfully reprimanded her, making her smile slightly.

"As much as I love my brothers, you're more likely to hit first before you have all the facts," Freya said.

As Isa regained her composure, she kissed her daughter's forehead before saying, "You, are in desperate need of a Mikaelson movie night."

Hope could deny that she grew happier at the mention of a movie night with her family. They never laughed more.

"You boys can keep Hope company. And you better not be watching anything other than a comedy," she warned, namely to Kol and her husband, who only ever seemed to watch action movies, but in secret, they both adored romantic movies, both genres unacceptable for the current situation.

"And what will you ladies be up to?" Kol questioned and Isa smirked.

"Freya, call Rebekah and Keelin, we might need back up. Davina, locator spell on Carter. If what I think happened is what actually happened, then where Carter is, is where his witch bitch ex-girlfriend is."

Freya pulled out her phone, now quite adept with modern technology, as she contacted the rest of the Mikaelson sisters. Davina then caught the necklace that Hope tossed her, it being a gift from Carter, she could use it to track him.

Hope then jumped on her father's back, Nik catching her legs with ease as the boys then made their way to the theatre room.

And with Carter's location now found, the Mikaelson sisters converged.
