"Are you quite sure about this, Niklaus?" Isa asked nervously as she walked on his arm through their village. "What if your family do not take a liking to me?"

His smile was nothing but loving. "My parents have given us their blessing, we have already conquered the hardest challenge, my love. My siblings will pose no challenge."

"But what if -"

"My love, you have already married me. There's no undoing it, unless the real reason you are afraid to meet my family is that you are ashamed of this marriage."

She rolled her eyes at him as she shoved his shoulder, the action only making him laugh. "You know that is not the case. It is just after all the stories you have told me about them, and since Elijah was complicit in what happened and -"

Niklaus's expression grew dark as he squeezed her hands gently. "You have my word that no harm will come to you at the hands of my family. I won't let it. And if Elijah even dares to touch you, well, perhaps it's better not to go into detail."

Isa's smile was small as Niklaus pulled her into his arms again and she'd never felt safer as he pressed a kiss to her hair. "All will be fine, love," he promised again before the sound of his name pulled them apart.

"Niklaus!" bellowed a gorgeous blonde girl as she came running over and wrapped her arms around him. But when she pulled away, she punched Nik in the arm. "You had us all so worried. Father was enraged as could be expected but Mother was beside herself. Where in the gods' name have you been?"

"It is a bit of a long story, Bekah," he answered with a smile. "But, I would like you to meet someone. Isa, love, I would like you to meet Rebekah, my little sister. Bekah, this is Isa...my wife."

"Hello," Isa said quietly with a small curtsey, a force of habit as they let the information sink in and Rebekah's eyes widened.

"Oh, so this is the maiden you have been so smitten with!" she exclaimed to her brother before she tugged Isa into a hug, the older girl a little unnerved but she returned the gesture. "I am so delighted to finally meet you! I am afraid I have been dealing with the many fools I call brothers for far too long. It is about time one of them gave me a sister."

Isa's smile was bashful and her cheeks were full of blush as they pulled apart, Nik sending his sister a playful glare.

"Well, I am delighted to meet you as well. Niklaus has told me so much about you, Rebekah. And I believe I have you to thank for this dress that I got to wear to my wedding," Isa said as she smoothed down the plain gown of purple fabric with the simple chain belt that went around her waist before dropping down the front of the dress.

"Oh, it was my pleasure, I assure you," Rebekah insisted, her kindness making Isa feel a little more at ease.

"Rebekah! There you are! I have been looking all over for - my sincerest apologies, milady. I'm Kol. I do not believe we have met but it's a pleasure to make your acquaintance," said a gentleman with long brunette hair and dark eyes as he jogged over to the trio, taking Isa's hand as he pressed a kiss to it.

"Isa, please meet our brother Kol," Rebekah introduced as she placed a hand on his arm, Nik just pinning his brother with a glare. "Kol, I would like to introduce you to Isa, Niklaus's wife."
