(A/N: Hey guys, I know it's a little late but I hope you all had a good and safe New Years. This is the continuation of Lost in Time, so I recommend reading that first before this one. I'm also still writing the ending so this may change slightly when I upload the rest of the story. Confractus means break in Latin. I hope you guys enjoy. XxD)

"I had a feeling you were the ones behind all this," Hope drawled as she gestured to the empty streets of New Orleans, her parents and four siblings surrounding her. "So much for the bond of family," she faux-pouted at her siblings.

"It's precisely because of that bond that we are here. You've had your fun, but it's time to turn it back on now," Nik said to his daughter who only angled her head at him.

"But I haven't even begun having any fun yet," she said with a sinister smile and her brother spoke up.

"Hope, you know we don't kill the humans in this city. And the limit we have for human deaths is for any accidents with newbie vampires. You are far from a newbie little sis, and you've gone three times over the limit in a single month. Times up, or else you gotta deal with the whole city," Marcel said as her head spun to face him.

Hope laughed.

"Even with every witch in New Orleans, you can't beat a tribrid and force my switch on, which means I have to do it willingly. And right now, I'm rather enjoying not being burdened with emotions. They're such a drag."

"You underestimate us, Hopes," Torin said and his big sister's eyes snapped to him.

"Do I?"

She then addressed the entire group before her gaze settled on her parents.

"We've all heard the stories. We all know that with the man I love dead, the only card you have left is one the Salvatore's gave you. Starve me of blood and try to smother me with emotions until one sticks."

"Don't ever mention that name in this city again!" Nik growled, the blood rushing through the veins under his eyes as they flickered between blue and gold before staying blue.

Isa only smirked.

"You may not have emotions, sweetheart," she began as they linked hands, the nerves in her eyes as visible as a single snowflake on a mountainside of snow. "But we do. And you can still feel them."

And her eyes widened as her three magical siblings joined their mother in a chant, the wind picking up as their spell bombarded Hope with every minute emotion they felt in that minute.

The girl dropped to her knees as she clutched her head, the occasional whimper escaping her lips as she tried to block it out.

Wind raged across the streets of New Orleans, the residents and tourists compelled by the vampires to stay inside for a few hours as the Mikaelson's dealt with Hope.

But the veins under Hope's eyes rippled with blood as her pupils changed colour and fixed themselves on her mother.

"I created that bond. I can break it too."

Isa's eyes widened in horror.

"CONFRACTUS!"

And the entire group was blasted backwards as Hope stood, her spell proving her words true.

Not only could they not feel Hope's emotions, but they couldn't feel her. It was as if her presence, her energy, was gone.

"Mom! You happen to have a plan B?" yelled Henrik as he helped up Lydia, Torin still trying to pull himself to his feet, which was difficult to do with Marcel's weight on him.

Hope just laughed, a colder and cruller laugh than before.

"Your first plan to stop me didn't work, your second won't work either. You'll run out of alphabet before you'll be able to flip my switch."

"I wouldn't be so sure," Nik's voice said as Hope turned to him, Isa's hands in his as he helped her up. "Go home."

Though they were a little bloodied and bruised, the four Mikaelson's healed quickly before speeding off in a blur, leaving Hope with her parents.

"You couldn't face me with three of the most powerful creatures in the world! What makes you think that you could do it by yourself?" she chuckled rather arrogantly, her parent's hands still joined.

"Because while you may possess powers beyond the imagination of most, there is one talent that we possess that will forever be stronger than yours," Nik said and Hope only placed a hand on her hip as she raised an eyebrow.

"And what might that be?"

Her mother's smirk returned as she stepped forward.

"This."

And she pulled her daughter into her mind.
