The Fall of Alaric Saltzman - Part One

Isa's stomach hurt with how much she'd been laughing as she walked with her three sons, Melody, Kai, Finn and Carmen. Kai may be completely crazy but he was hilarious and Isa wasn't the only one with a sore stomach due to his words. And he also really cared about Melody, part of the reason why Elijah hadn't severed his head from his shoulders yet.

Her arm was wrapped casually around Torin's as they strolled through the streets of their city, all of them revelling in the happiness of moments like this.

At least until Melody cried out in pain as a wooden stake was impaled into her chest, millimetres from her heart as she dropped to the ground.

Kai caught her as Finn rushed to her side and pulled it out whilst Isa and her sons looked through the crowd for the attacker.

He stood there with anger etched all over his face and a murderous look in his eyes as he beheld the Mikaelson family, moreover, the Gemini witch that had offered his wrist to his injured girlfriend without hesitation as she sank her fangs into his arm.

"Alaric Saltzman," Isa snarled.

"Mom, you know him?" Marcel asked.

"Boys, clear the streets. This is going to get bloody."

Marcel, Henrik and Torin exchanged worried looks as they did as they were told, speeding off as one by one, they removed and compelled the humans to stay away, Alaric never moving and never leaving the rageful look in Isa's eyes.

"He's not here for you," Kai revealed as he stood, Finn having donated a few drops of his blood to help heal the wound on Kai's wrist. "He's here for me."

"You know him?" Isa questioned, turning to see Finn with his arms protectively around his knees and his niece as Carmen stood in a defensive position in front of them both.

"My twin sister, who I killed, happened to be his girlfriend. He's a bit sore about the fact considering it's his second? Third? Third, I think, his third girlfriend that was killed," Kai mocked and Isa smirked. "Not to mention that he helped put me back into that prison world."

Her sons then returned as they flanked her.

"Well considering that he helped kill Finn, held me hostage in an attempt to kill my husband and threw a stake at my niece, he's not leaving this city alive," she announced.

"I don't care about your family," Alaric shouted. "I just want him," he said as he pointed at Kai.

Kai was about to speak but was surprised when Marcel spoke first.

"Yeah, well in my city, he's under the protection of the Mikaelson family and if you mess with my family, you mess with this entire city."

"Well, he messed with my family! And today he dies for it!" Alaric spat as he vamped his face and Isa grew tense.

"Mom?" Torin questioned as he sensed her hesitation.

"Be careful. He's more powerful than an Original. Esther created him to kill Nik when Mikael couldn't," she explained.

"But if he's made with magic...." Melody started and Kai gave her a wicked smirk, an evil glimmer in his eyes.

Alaric lunged.

Finn met his blows in the middle of the street.

"Marcel, get Melody and Carmen out of here, lock down the city and warn Nik. We'll take care of Alaric."

Marcel was hesitant but he nodded as he grabbed Melody and Carmen and sped off.

"Get off my brother!" Isa spat as she came running at Alaric and kicked him off Finn who'd been held to the ground.
