You can sense something is off with her, so you pull up your sleeves and decide to help Maria clean the dishes yourself. She says nothing, but you continue to help her anyway, and after a while, you start to chuckle to yourself.

"What are you laughing at?" Maria asks hesitantly.

"Sorry sorry, it's just, this reminds me of when we were kids, even though mom and dad bought you to be our maid, we just ended up doing all the chores together." You continue to chuckle at this, "You know, I think they must have just thought I was doing a bad job and realized I needed an extra hand!"

Maria giggles at these old memories, "You always were bad at doing chores, and you were always getting in trouble for slacking off too!"

You both laugh at this, "Yeah I was, wasn't I," you admit "God those were good times, sometimes I wish we could go back to then, no responsibilities, just goofing off and not having a care in the world..."

You both go silent again and before long, the dishes are done. After you two are finished, you dry your hands off while Maria wipes her hands off on her apron, Maria is the first one to break the silence.

"Remember when we were kids, and your parents would always get onto us for playing too close to the edge of the cliff, and how we used to always sit on the edge and watch shooting stars go by?" Maria asks.

"Yeah, of course." You reply.

"Will you sit out there with me again, you know, for old time's sake?" She shyly asks.

You give her a gentle smile, "Sure Maria."

Maria holds your hand and the two of you walk onto the grass outside, making your way to the edge of the cliff, you both sit down and dangle your legs off the side. The sun's setting and the sky is a beautiful orange color.

"It looks so pretty Lucas, don't you think so?"

"Yeah, yeah it does..."

Maria takes her gaze off the sun and looks at you, "You know Lucas... I've missed you since you've been gone... I wish you would come home more often"

You sigh at this, "Me too Maria, I wish we could just be together again, like when we were kids, not a worry in the world"

"Yeah, I would like that too..." Maria rests her head against your shoulder, and the two of you watch the sunset together.

End.
