You quickly sit up, and somehow you're able to momentarily clear your head, at which point you actually realize what exactly you're doing.

"Wait, wait, wait, stop", you say.

Maria looks at you perplexed, "W- what's wrong, Lucas?"

You let out a sigh, "We shouldn't be doing this... "

"What, why?!", Maria sounds extremely confused.

"Why?!," you yell, "Because we're basically siblings Maria! We've known each other since we were little kids, my mom and dad raised us together! It should have never got this far, God... I'm so stupid...", in your shame, you cover your face with your hands.

Maria quickly speaks up, "Wha- what? N- no! It's my fault ok, I'm the one who suggested it in the first place! I just... I thought this is what you wanted"

You continue to lay there with your face covered by your hands, "Jesus... What am I doing with my life...?"

Maria sits at the edge of your bed, both of you are completely silent. After what felt like an hour, you hear Maria make a sound, she gets up from your bed, you look up at her and see she's looking at your window, you watch her as she slowly makes her way to the window and opens it, then like a nimble cat, she climbs out onto the grass outside.

"Whoa, wait where are you going?!", by the time you make it out of the window, she's already halfway to the cliff edge.

"Maria, what are you doing?!", you yell.

Maria slowly turns around to look at you, tears pouring from her eyes, "I never meant for it to happen like this, I've ruined everything...", she slowly backs away from you, closer and closer to the edge of the steep cliff.

"Maria," you say cautiously, "please, don't do anything rash"

Maria shakes her head, tears drop to the ground, "All I wanted was to make you happy, so when you thought of me, you would remember all the good times we had together, but now you hate me..."

"Maria, I don't hate you," you assure, "now just step away from the edge."

Maria looks behind her, she's on the very edge now, sharp rocks and the endless abyss of the ocean are the only things behind her now. With tearful sorrow, she says, "I'm... sorry", and with nothing left to say, she closes her eyes and jumps.

End.
