"Ok", you say softly.

Maria jumps up in joy and hugs you, "Thank you, thank you, thank you! I'll go pack my things!"

Without another word, Maria rushes off to her room. You head to your parent's room, inside, you start to search for some car keys, looking for them you see a framed photo on top of a dresser, it's an old family photo with you, your mom, and your dad, all standing together, smiling. Off to the side, just barely in the frame, you see Maria, she's wearing a formal maid uniform, looking down at the ground rather than at the camera, her face is completely expressionless. You quickly knock the photo down in disgust, "How could I not have seen it earlier...?", you think.

Shortly after you locate a pair of keys to your mom's car, exiting your parent's bedroom, you run into Maria, she's carrying a small backpack with her, "I'm ready!", she excitedly exclaims. You nod and quickly go into your old room to grab the suitcase, you both make your way out of the front door and onto the gravel driveway.

You unlock your mom's car and Maria happily hops into the front passenger seat, you toss your suitcase in the back and get in on the driver's side, uncertainty feels your mind, "Is this the right way to handle this?", you think, you look over at Maria, she looks back at you and grins, your hesitancy dissipates as you reactively smile too. Backing out of the driveway and making your way on the road, you decide that no matter what happens next, you'll always stick with Maria, after a lifetime of sadness, she never has to be lonely again.

End.
