"The corpus callosum is not only the largest white matter structure in the brain, but also the bridge connecting all parts of the brain to each other." Mrs. Finch said, as she gave her biology class.

In the one hand, Diana did know she should be taking as many notes on this class as possible considering Mrs. Finch's test was coming up and everyone knew how hard she enjoyed making it usually, but, on the other, there was just something outside, in the parking lot that kept calling for her attention.

For a while, Diana wasn't sure what it was, but as soon as her eyes fell on the blue jeep about to be towed, she knew that was it. She wasn't sure why, but just seeing someone about to handle the jeep with so little care made her feel suddenly anxious.

"Diana?" Mrs. Finch called, the girl only hearing her voice really because the teacher moved to stand right in front of the jeep.

Looking over at the woman, Diana realized she was expecting her to say something in regards of what she was saying, but, considering she hadn't been hearing her for a while now, Diana wasn't sure what she was supposed to say.

"I completely agree." Diana smiled, almost bashfully, as Mrs. Finch sent her a look.

"Is there something outside that's more fascinating than the structure of the human mind?" She asked, as Diana sighed.

"No... I don't think so..." She mumbled, causing Scott to turn around to her, a little worried, as Diana shook her head and looked back at Mrs. Finch again. "No."

"Okay, good." Mrs. Finch nodded, seemingly satisfied as she continued with the class.

Turning to look at Scott, who was sitting beside her that day, Diana nodded at him to let him know she was okay, but Scott could tell something was wrong with the way Diana kept looking out of the window and tapping her pen against her book and, especially, he knew something was off when Diana all but pushed her chair back, not even minding the scratching sound it made against the floors and jump down to the floor.

"I'm sorry." Diana mumbled, once she noticed all eyes on her, but shook it off as she took off toward the door. "I'll be right back."

Rushing through the hallway, Diana was pretty sure she never got to the parking lot so fast in her life, and, thanking her lucky stars she had had that much practice in running in heels, Diana reached the jeep just as the tow truck stopped in front of it.

"Hey!" She called, causing the tow truck driver to look up from his papers and toward Diana as she stood, almost protectively, beside the jeep. "Hey, you can't tow this jeep!"

"Paperwork says I can." The man argued. And really, he probably could. He definitely could. "It's reported as abandoned."

In a desperate move, Diana sprawled her hand over the hood of the jeep, shrugging in a challenge as she stared up at the man in front of her.

"And now it's not." She said, causing the man to laugh.

"Oh, this is your vehicle?" He mocked, as Diana frowned.

"Does it matter?"

"Sounds like a no."

"It's mine!" Scott appeared, almost out of breath as he rushed up to the jeep and stood by it with Diana. "Hum, my jeep. Thank you. I'll move it... Once I get the keys... From my locker... After you leave."

Staring at the two kids in half confusion, the man shook his head.

"I'm sorry." He shrugged, not particularly sorry at all. "Once it's on the hook, you're on the hook."

"Oh, God..." Diana groaned at the cheap play with words, as Scott sighed.

"Okay, look, there's gotta be something that we can do." He tried. "Sign something? Call someone?"
