"Malia, come on..." Diana tried again, rolling her eyes with a smile at her sister as the girl laid on her stomach in her bed.
"No." It was all she said, as Diana scoffed.
"Malia..."
"Wolves, or werewolves?" Malia asked, not even bothering looking up from her book.
"They said wolves." Diana said, hoping she wouldn't have to explain again to Malia the whole situation with the wolf that appeared in the lacrosse field earlier.
"Not interested." Malia shook her head, turning around so she was laying in her bed, still looking at her book. "You go."
"Liam was asking for help from the werecoyote, not the phoenix." Diana argued.
"Why me?" Malia groaned, as Diana sighed.
"Because you're the former animal." She said. "No one understands mysterious animal situations like you do."
"I'm done with mysterious animal situations." Malia said, flipping back around in her stomach as she looked up at Diana, finally. "I want mysterious men. French ones."
Sighing again, Diana made a face before frowning a little as she took a look at Malia's computer that had been tracking the girl's flight to France only to notice the big rerouted sign blinked over the map.
"Your flight's delayed." Diana pointed out, as Malia shook her head.
"No, no... It's rerouted." She corrected, as Diana rolled her eyes. "There's a difference."
"Delayed is what happens when a flight is rerouted." She said. "So, you have plenty of time to help. And there's a storm system shutting down Charles DeGaulle Airport."
Looking back at her computer, Malia groaned when she noticed that Diana was, in fact, correct once she noticed the notification there warning about the storm.
"It's a minor shower." Malia tried to dismiss it, as Diana cut her eyes at her and the werecoyote groaned yet again. "Liam's got everything covered. They were just dead wolves. It doesn't sound supernatural to me."
"So just go over there and confirm it." Diana insisted, reaching over Malia to close her laptop as the girl growled lowly at her. "If it's not supernatural, you come back here and wait for your flight. It'll be half an hour, Malia, come on."
Groaning dramatically, Malia threw her book aside and stood up from her bed, feeling a sudden need to punch away the smug smile on Diana's face, but, choosing to, instead, just grab her jacket and meet Liam and Mason as fast as she could so she could come back as fast as she could as well.
"Fine." She mumbled. "But if I miss my flight for this, you're paying me back."

It had seemed Malia was right. The wolf situation hadn't been as supernatural as they had expected and neither had been the rat situation Mason and Liam had found down in the tunnels after it so, maybe, that was a good sign. Maybe that meant nothing supernatural would happen till tomorrow and she would be able to drive off to college with Lydia and Scott as they had all agreed on doing and she wouldn't be left feeling so guilty. Maybe, this time, it could be really that easy.
But, of course, nothing in Diana's life was actually easy.
So, when Diana woke up from a nap in cold sweat in spite of the absurdly hot temperature of her body trying to recall what she had dreamed about, she couldn't really say she was all that surprised. Looking down at the sheets around her, Diana sighed when she noticed how the edges of them looked a little burnt. She pulled her legs up to her chest for a moment, feeling her eyes flickering from golden then back to their usual hazel colors as she frowned, trying to figure out what was going on, but considering she didn't remember anything about her dream except for a big explosion somewhere, trying to figure out anything was rather hard. Especially considering the one person that always helped her figure everything out was almost 3,000 miles away from her.
