Chapter 17 - Helstea Auction

Sitting in the center of my bedroom I pondered, what exactly is destruction? What forms can it take? How could I use this knowledge and apply it in real-world scenarios using the god rune of destruction? Destruction is the act or the process of destroying something or in other words, rendering it void. If I were to light a book on fire it would turn to ash and thus, I would have destroyed said book. If I were to drop another book into water, the pages would become soaked and the ink would run, making said book illegible, thus destroying the book. Both are forms of destruction... how to say it? Both times the books were destroyed but the difference in methods leads to varying results of destruction. Does this mean that I could use my destruction for more than Amaterasu, could I use my previous knowledge of earthquakes, combustion, rust formation, and decay to cause different forms of destruction as well?

"Master, Squads Charlie, and Beta are in position," said a female voice.

"Good, remember you two, are bodyguards Uncle Vincent hired for this event, so do not call me master in front of anyone other than the family," I said to the two black squad guards; Yoruichi and Martin.

"Everyone ready?" I asked as we reached the bottom stair.

"YEAH," they shouted.

"Um, Arthur is Tekkadan in position?" asked Uncle Vincent.

"Yes, Squad Beta will follow us to the auction house and remain in the shadows guarding the merchandise while Squad Charlie will patrol the surrounding area."

Tekkadan is the name I've chosen for the guild, officially we specialize in bodyguarding and protection services, while black squad remains secret to me and the 54 original members. From the normal workers in Tekkadan, we will choose those who I think are suitable to join black squad making recruitment a lot easier for me while having another source of income and unfortunately paperwork.

"Holy shit..." I muttered stepping out of the carriage.

"*chuckles* I take it you're impressed," said Aunt Tabitha.

"Yeah, I didn't expect it to be this large," I said.

Following Aunt Tabitha to the panorama room, I saw dad and the Twin Horns Barking orders to the security detail; times like this he loses all his goofiness and becomes a natural-born leader. If he wasn't the captain of the Helstea's guards, maybe he could've led a black squad. Entering the viewing room, needless to say, the webcomic did not do the massive size and beauty of this place justice. It looks like a perfect mix between the elven and human architecture designs, with the halls decorated with dwarven suits of armor and various weapons. To pass the time Sylvie, Regis, and I began estimating the cost of different items while Sage declared who got the closest to the actual price. I won, easily of course since Regis does not know anything much other than boobs and fighting and Sylvie is only at the intelligence level of a 5-year-old child. All those beast cores I've collected back in the forest are doing their job quite well, in assisting in accelerating her growth. Speaking of growth, both Lilia and Ellie could now meditate on their own without me having to be there with them.

"Everyone, get ready, our VIP guests are here," Vincent said entering the room as everyone lined up in front of the bar. "Please welcome, their Majesties, King Blaine, Queen Priscilla, Prince Curtis, and Princess Kathlyn," Uncle Vincent said in a grandiose manner.

At their entrance, my family, the guards, and the barmaids all genuflected. "I don't recall having to share with guests, Vincent," Blaine said in a neutral tone.

"Ah, yes forgive me for being presumptuous; the last time you said you wanted to meet my family so I thought this event would be the perfect chance for you to meet them. This is my wife Tabitha and my only child Lilia, this is the wife of my closest friend, Alice, and her two kids, Arthur and Eleanor Leywin."
