"Welcome everyone to Practical Mana Manipulation or PMM as I like to call it," he stupidly grinned as if he were some sort of underappreciated genius as his lustful eyes began to violate every female in our class. "As the name suggests we will be doing things very practically," he chuckled at his own horrid pun.
'Damn, I think I might be sick,' Regis said rubbing his stomach from within me.
"Ah, I'm sure most of you are curious as to the strength of our new DC officers," he said tilting his head and raising both his hands, gesturing at the three of us.
'OH, FUCK OFF!' Regis yelled with a strong English accent.
'I must agree with my Uncle; never in my life have I wanted to slap a bitch more than I do now,' Sylvie commented.
'Sylv, make sure you only curse in front of us,' I said slightly bothered by her language but I knew with Regis around there would be no lack of 'color' in her vocabulary.
"I'll volunteer!" Feyrith screamed from beside me. Man, I should really stop zoning out so often.
"Feyrith, he is a fire type with the ability to conjure blue flames," I warned as he nodded before jumping down to the arena.
"Feyrith, I believe was your name? Since you're a first-year I'll only use long-range attacks... after all I need an excuse should I lose," he laughed as the idiot sheep in my class laughed as well. "Let's begin!" he yelled with a crazed gleam in his eye.
[Water, surround and protect me!] Feyrith chanted as a large puddle of water swirled to life beneath his feet and his mana formed a spherical barrier around his person. Geist's sword roared to life with blue flames as he slashed the air, sending out several fire blades at the first year. With a swish of his wand tendrils of water shot out of the ground blocking the incoming attacks while launching their own water blades at the esteemed professor. Exchange after exchange, with a higher core level and higher efficiency Geist, managed to send an overpowered throwing Feyrith unbalance as he mercilessly sent out more blades to beat down the already defeated elf.
"I concede," Feyfey said with a downcast look.
With an ear-to-ear smile, looking pleased that he took so long to beat a kid Geist asked, "Well then would another member of the DC like to avenge their comrade?"
With furrowed brows, Kathlyn made her way down to the arena leaving behind a trail of frost. Wand in hand, a scowl and a nod she signaled for the duel to begin. "My, my, what a scary expression you're making princess," he mocked. "Please don't hold the outcome of this duel against me," he said initiating their duel.
'Should I save Kate like the last time or...?'
'Wait, you aren't going to save her?' Regis asked wearily.
'Of course, I'm going to save her, but if I do it like the last time then there would be no evidence to use against Geist.'
'So should I let her skirt get singed or conjure rocks to block his attacks?'
'Both, conjure thick rocks and thin ones and let the thin ones get destroyed singing both your uniforms, and then everyone will begin to question why Geist was using so much firepower against students, first-years no less and against someone who affinity is naturally weaker than his own,' Sage plotted.
'Sounds good, now we have to wait for the right moment to strike,' I transmitted refocusing on the duel.
Five giant ice lances were hurled at Geist and when they were a meter away from their target, each one burst into small icicles swarming around the professor, blocking his vision. Growing irate at his handicap, Geist released a series of a stronger version of Hell's Inferno, where several balls of fire sped to the princess with no chance of being recalled. *Boom* In less than a split second, with some assistance from Sage we flawlessly executed the plan.
Students shot up from their seats, all waiting to confirm the fate of the human princess. Curious, frightful rumors filled the arena as the smoke slowly dispersed to reveal a dome of badly burnt rocks. With a loud thud, several large slabs of rocks fell to the ground, easing everyone's heart that the princess was for the most part okay with some minor burns here and there; but they were equally shocked that a first-year managed to reach the princess in such a short space of time and conjured a dome to protect them both.
"Huh?" all eyes immediately honed in on Geist who was slumped on his knees, sweat layering his face taking short, fast-paced breaths. Wearing their doubts on their foreheads, everyone began to silently question the competency of their professor. Noticing the vultures glaring at him Geist immediately attempted to do damage control. "Ha-ha, there was no need to step in, I had everything under control," he lied with a forced smile.
Unlike the last time, there was sufficient evidence to say otherwise, "Professor, the last spell you performed was a variation of the popular 'Hell's Inferno' was it not?" I asked in a tone of voice that commanded the truth.
"Y-yes, but you see..."
"But nothing, professor!" I snapped. "It is common knowledge that AOE spells cannot be recalled or stopped after casting. They could only be blocked or dodged." Turning to Kathlyn I pulled out a 99% potion to heal her wounds but was interrupted by sounds of a rage-induced charging ape. Drawing Dawn's Ballad and imbuing her with mana I dashed towards Geist and began parrying his mediocre attacks.
'Did you just call Dawn a 'her'?' Regis asked with a hint of confusion.
'Yeah, in movies they refer to cars and boats as girls,' I replied easily slicing through some fireballs like a hot knife through butter.
'But Dawn is a sword!' he exclaimed as if I somehow forgot that fact.
'So...?'
'SO? Dawn's Ballad is a very strong sword, so it is obviously a male,' Regis explained which is most likely a ruse to annoy Sylvie.
'One, that's sexiest. And two, I seem to remember, if I don't watch where I walk, I might accidentally step on you,' she said propping herself up on my desk giving us a toothy grin, while all the other students were worried about my safety.
"HA! Is that ALL the DC club can do?" he yelled thinking his childish taunts could rile me up.
"Ask and ye shall receive," I said in the most condescending voice I could muster. Coating my palm with ice mana I reached out and grabbed his bald, snapping in half and snuffing the flame. Shock, disbelief, panic overcame him as I effortlessly sent him flying into the barrier on the other side of the room.
"No, no! Stay back!" he whimpered as he desperately flailed his arms.
Delivering a quick kick to his temple I said, mimicking Ironhide, "Class Dismissed!"
AN: It's been a while huh? To be honest I did not even realize just how much time had passed... oops. Anyways I should be able to resume with my normal upload schedule from now on.
