AN: The pic above has nothing to do with the chapter. I thought it was cute and just wanted to share it with you guys.
Entering the elevator, with a swipe of hand I quickly knocked out the operator, needless to say, the Royals and their guards were instantly on guard. "Chill, I just needed to talk to you without any chance of being spied on," I said layering the walls with dense mana.
"Speak," Blaine commanded.
Holding back a snort, I began, "There have been many human nobles engaging in gross racisms and segregation," gone were all traces of friendliness from my voice. "While Cynthia has severe punishments in place it seems to do little to stop the Neanderthals from acting on their delusions."
"What's this has to do with us?" Blaine asked and I could have sworn Priscilla just stifled a lengthy sigh.
"Idiot," I muttered. "Very little pressure is needed to break the fragile ties between the three races. While merchants would support the idea because of profits, parents will not allow their children to be endangered. Also, Tessia is residing at this Academy, if she were to be hurt because of these radicals what would that mean for the relationship between Sapin and Elenoir?" I asked hoping he was capable of using more than two brain cells.
'That's some wishful thinking there, mate,' Regis commented.
Blaine's POV
"So? If the elves want a war, I'll give them war!" I said haughtily grinning at the lad in front of me. With his genius and the strength of his guild, we could surely take victory this time. And then I would go down in history as the greatest King to ever lived.
*Ding* The elevator reached the top with the kid just intently staring at me. Ha, no doubt he was thinking about all the riches he could gain. Stepping out of the elevator, Arthur silently led us to the admin building with his mana pulsing. Yes, he is so caught up in the idea that can't even control his mana! Glancing at my wife she wore a look of discontent, Priscilla has always been one for peace and unity amongst the three kingdoms... but when she sees how much money we could get from conquering the elves, she will no doubt change, after all, money is everything.
Entering Director Goodsky's office I was about to greet her when a voice commanded me to sit down. Without any control over our bodies, my wife and my two strongest guards plopped our asses onto the nearby couch. Bloodlust? No, this was something different, much different. Aura, this is aura, something that shows the strength of one's will. While there are many theories surrounding the subject, most theologians believe that is another form of energy inside of everyone, whether they are a mage or not. The only problem is that no one knows how to use this mysterious energy and those who have it were usually veteran soldiers with numerous life and death battles under their belt, yet none of theirs were as potent and dense as this 12-year old's.
Golden runes flared to life, lining the walls and doors of the office, glancing over at Cynthia the only one who could have activated the privacy mechanisms, I saw the old crazy bat pouring herself a large cup of tea with eyes that remind of an excited child.
"..."
"What is the meaning of this?" I asked in the sternest voice I could have mustered.
"Nothing much, just a word of warning from one businessman to another," he says most casually.
"Varay! Bairon! I don't care if you have to destroy the entirety of Xyrus! KILL HIM!!!" I yelled. 'Ha, now you're done for brat. Zero and Thunder-lord are on a whole other level when it comes to power. Even amongst the six lances, Zero is a cut above the rest.' Grinning like a madman I couldn't wait to watch his nonchalant expression contort to terror, as his eyes redden with despair. This is revenge, sweet, sweet revenge; for making a fool out of me at the auction house and now, PAY WITH YOUR LIFE!
"Are you done with your internal monologue?" the brat asked in a bored tone... and with a yawn! He fucking yawned! Wait... could read minds!!?
"The mind is not a book to be opened and read at one's own pleasure, but it is a series of neurons carrying countless pulses, each holding a myriad of information. The more complex one's mind the harder it is to interpret, however in your case it could be compared to reading a children's book, dull and unchallenging," he drawled.
"Why aren't you two doing anything!?" I yelled at my lances ignoring his insults.
"We can't move," came Varay's strained voice. Glancing over at Wykes it seems like he was also in a similar predicament but Cynthia doesn't seem to be affected at all. "Cynthia! As your king I demand you kill this brat!" I screamed as the old bitch was pouring tea for the brat's weird-ass fox.
"Fufufu, I couldn't beat him when he was eight, what chance do I have now?" Cynthia replied, not even bothering to look at me. But her words, quickly set in, he had beaten a Mid Silver core at the age of eight, does that mean Varay and Bairon really aren't a match for him. No, forget match, I don't think he evens considers them to be threats given his lax posture. "Also, you are not my King, I do not answer to no one," she said in a firm voice.
Before I could begin to question her last statement the brat blurted. "Bloody hell! Lunch would soon be over and then I'll have Team Fighting Mechanics... Alright let's make this quick," the brat said as everyone looked at him in confusion. "First, the reason for my display of power; Tessia is my fiancé DO NOT THINK ABOUT TOUCHING HER. We have far more things to worry about than a civil war, and if said civil war was to break out, it would be a pain in the ass having to absorb and manage Sapin's resources," the brat said with full confidence that Elenoir would win against us.
"Secondly, Thunder-lord and Zero are currently your two strongest knights yet in the face of my aura they are rendered useless. They can't move nor can they form the most basic of spells, and this isn't even a fraction of its true strength," he said pausing for us to ponder upon his words.
"While it may not seem like it this isn't a power move but it was merely a demonstration," he said reigning in his aura. "Pretty soon we are going to up against some insurmountable odds and as such, we need to work together to overcome them to ensure the safety and security of our people and our way of life," he pleaded. 'I've never seen this side of him before.' I mused.
"Blaine?" he asked with a voice that was on the verge of cracking.
"Yes?" I responded not sure how to properly react in this peculiar situation.
"The artifacts that granted them white core are also the double-edged blade that is holding them back."
"Arthur how do you know of these things?" my wife asked, gone was any fear of the lad but her voice was filled with concern. She always had a big heart when it came to our people, no matter their status.
"I am the heir to Elenoir, after being told of the artifacts existence I carefully examined them trying to unearth their secrets, but instead I found a block, a stronghold meant to keep us down, meant to limit our knowledge of mana, meant to halt our progress, our development," he spat.
"But, the deity's gift... Surely, they meant us no harm," my wife protested, being a strong believer in their graciousness.
"*Sigh* Time for a history lesson," the brat sighed, then went on to explain the true nature of deities, the ones who call themselves Asuras, the eradication of the djinns, and why Alacrya wants to capture Dicathen and higher realms of power. Taking a moment to properly digest his words, I turned to my wife, from the gleam in her eyes it seems that we are both thinking the same thing. "Arthur, you've given us a lot to think about, but how do we know that you actually have the authority to forge an alliance between Sapin and Elenoir."
"Will this do?" he asked tossing a golden badge on the table. At a glance I instantly recognized it to be the Eralith's Family Crest. Those elves must have a lot of faith in this boy to grant him such power.
"Yes, this will do," I said, stroking my chin.
"Good, now let's get to the actual planning," he said as Cynthia walked over with biscuits and tea. Shaking my head I reached for my cup, I couldn't help but wonder who this kid really is? How did he come to find revelations that not even the intelligence of the Royal families couldn't find? But, knowing him, if I were to ask he would just smoothly change topics; I guess I can find some solace in knowing that he is firmly on our side.
