Cynthia's POV
"No, no, don't you dare transform!" Arthur yelled as a bright golden white light engulfed the room followed by the sound of several things breaking at once. Slowly opening my eyes, I was not ready to see a dragon, an asura, a being capable of altering time and space itself, is here, in my office. Its head was through the ceiling and its tail was hanging out the window, but we were still in awe at the massive creature.
"*Beep beep* Oh wow, look at the time... I best be heading to class now," Arthur nervously chuckled right before both he and the dragon just disappeared. Whether it was through teleportation or time manipulation I may never know, however, I do know that I was severely underestimating Arthur Leywin.
"Th-that w-was a-a d-dragon?" Blaine barely stuttered out while the rest look just as shocked.
"I guess it was," I replied as I made my way behind the desk powering up my desktop. That kid, so full of ideas, this thing he calls a personal computer is the latest project of the Gideon & Arthur partnership. It would take a while to fully learn all the capabilities of this machine but so far, its automation features make my life so much easier and all the beta testers only have positive reviews of the 'pc.' "At least we know why he was so confident," I said as I entered the world's hardest P@$$w0rD.
"I know from the stories of old that dragons are supposedly the strongest beings but the last they were seen was back in the beast era, surely the was a huge difference in the quality of mages from then compared to now?" Bairon blurted.
"What are you trying to say?"
"Aren't we overestimating the might of the dragon?"
"No"
"No?"
"Dragons are supreme beings who can fully harmonize with mana and their understanding of magic is so great and deep that can even bend space and time to their will."
"Are you saying that that dragon and potentially Arthur could achieve such magical prowess," Varay asked somehow still composed.
"He already has," I said looking around as all the damages were somehow fixed as if they were never there.
Arthur's POV
After repairing Goodsky's office, Sylvie and I ran to the open practice fields for class trying our best not to explode with laughter. I know I should be the responsible adult and scold her for such recklessness, but the look of shock that was on Blaine's face!
'Holy shit, did you see that?' Regis wheezed. 'Even their socks were shocked stupid!' he wheezed again.
'Regis, take a breather before you have an asthma attack,' I said trying to keep a straight face lest everyone think that I'm crazy for laughing by myself.
'It's fine, I don't have lungs,' he assured.
'If you don't have lungs, how do you smell then?' Sylvie asked.
'Silly little dragon, lungs are for breathing, nose and their smell buds, are for smelling,' Regis said mimicking a professor.
'Should we tell him that there's no such thing as smell buds?' Sylvie asked.
'Nah, don't waste your breath; I could already feel Sage composing a thorough lecture for the ignorant mutt,' I said just as Sage began telling Regis that he did indeed have lungs and that we are able to smell because of specialized neurons in the nose that are directly connected to the brain.
"Arthur! I didn't expect to see you in upperclassman class," Curtis called out.
"Cynthia allowed me to take them since she said I was advanced enough to take them," I responded.
"Well, it's good to see you, anyways," Claire said wrapping her hand around my neck.
"I heard that this was one of the most popular classes; where are all the other students?" I asked looking around subtlety slipping out of Claire's grip.
"Most students take their time when arriving to class so most of them will reach any minute now," Curtis informed.
'Ha, nerd, imagine wanting to reach 5 minutes early to class,' Regis barked out a laugh.
'Sometimes you have to reach early if you want a good seat and there is absolutely nothing wrong with being early nor reaching right before the bell,' I retort.
'Sure, sure,' Regis said as everyone's head snapped towards the entrance. Following their line of sight, I saw a head of gunmetal silver hair reflecting the light rays of the sun as the owner walked briskly and gracefully being trailed by her vice-captain.
'No matter where we go, Mama will always turn heads,' Sylvie puffed proudly.
Waving her over, she gave a quick smile as she skipped over, while Clive's natural scowl deepen.
'This fool still thinks he has a chance,' Regis mused.
"Hey Tess, Anila," I said petting the griffon that was standing at a decent 3 and a half feet earning an affectionate growl.
"*Chuckles* You know whenever someone tried that they are almost always at risk of losing their finger," Tess said.
"Well, I have a secret that I haven't told anyone before," I whispered as she and everyone leaned in closer.
'Master now would be a good time to spread the rumors that you're more than meets the eye,' Sage informed.
Taking my advisor's advice, I began to mouth my message to Tess using sound magic so that only she alone could hear, "I'm actually a beast whisperer," I smirked as Tess burst out laughing while the others look confused.
Murmurs broke out amongst my peers, most wondering what is it that could possibly make their lunar goddess laugh while others were intrigued by my use of sound magic since it was only known before that I only had wind, water, and ice.
"Well, it's good to see that my students are all getting along," Glory exclaimed as she and her bond descended from the skies. "I am Vanesy Glory, your teacher for Team Fighting Mechanics, a pleasure to make your acquaintance," she introduced herself with the biggest grin.
"Claire Bladeheart, Curtis Glayder, and Arthur Leywin, three members of the newly formed Disciplinary Committee, surely I can't be the only one interested in seeing what the supposed strongest students in this here esteemed academy have to offer," Glory incited as the students began to chorus yes and yeah.
"You know I have seen many fine arts and artifacts but I haven't seen or heard a silver tongue that is as finely crafted as yours... Come work for Tekkadan as our spokesperson and I'll pay you 10 times your current rate," I offered.
"I'll have to decline, I'm under contract for another year," she dismissed.
"Tch, most unfortunate," I sighed.
"As I was saying what better to showcase their abilities than with a friendly game of WAR AND CONQUEST!?" She yelled with a maniacal grin.
AN: I'll explain the beast whisperer joke in the next chapter or I just might post it as a stand-alone chapter depending on how long the final product is...
