Nico's POV {The day after Hyperloop was unveiled}

11 years, for 11 years I've been on this earth. When I was summoned to this world, I was shipped off to a Highblood, where I was given the utmost care and attention. I was treated like a prince and was taught many things, such as the language, culture, and this energy they called mana. Not only that but I, I was special; the High Sovereign, Agrona Vritra would summon me to his personal chambers where we would talk for hours and hours. He was always so interested in what I had to say and I was quite happy to have someone of such high standing to be my ear.

Often times I find myself reminiscing on our past conversations, and always looking forwards to our next. Today's one especially, he said that he had an important mission for me to carry out. AGRONA VRITRA has an assignment for me, ME!

Entering his chambers, I looked around admiring all the relics of a now-extinct race. While much isn't known about them, they are widely regarded as a group of geniuses that have helped to shape Alacrya with their vast knowledge.

"Come, young Nico let us talk," came his deep, authoritative yet welcoming voice. Meeting him out on his penthouse balcony. "Greetings my Lord," I said in a respectful manner, garnering a small chuckle from my savior.

"You and I Nico, aren't so different," he said, patting my back as we admired the view.

"What do you mean, Sir?" I asked with a squeaky voice.

"We were betrayed... by the ones we trusted the most," he said remorsefully, staring blankly at the clear sky.

"You were betrayed!?" I blurted out.

"Yes, there was once a man I looked up to, a role model of sorts, someone whom I wanted to catch up to, to side beside him more than anything. I searched and scoured the earth for new ways of gaining strength but one day I stumbled upon a grave discovery. The man who was once my goal, my inspiration had found a peaceful and advanced race capable of harassing the very power of the universe," he paused gesturing towards stars, staring at the night's sky with unrestrained hunger.

"That man coveted their magics, their power, their creations, their insight, their knowledge... but, unlike mana, the way of the cosmos cannot be taught through traditional means. He who thinks of himself to be a god, a person... no a deity, a supernatural, a divine being who everything, everyone must bow down to, refused to accept that there was something that he couldn't have learned. Taking this as a great insult he ordered the annihilation of the once-prosperous race. When I discovered this horrid truth, at first, I refused to believe that the man I was once enamored with, the man who I once thought to be the embodiment of Altruism could have ordered such a heinous crime, the ruthless massacre of those who simply wanted to use their gifts to help and uplift the world."

"Gathering my wits I returned home, prepared to reveal all of his crimes to the eight great clans but before I could... my clan mates and I were framed; we were accused of interbreeding with the lessers..."

"But isn't that what you're doing now?" I asked as I fell to my knees under the weight of his suffocating pressure.

"I DID what I had to do to ensure the survival of my clan," he said in a near monotonous voice that still carried with it a whirlwind of emotion.

"*Trot, trot, trot* My Lord," came the raspy voice of the strongest scythe saving me from the slip of my tongue. Scars marred his sickly gray face, a constant reminder of the punishment he received for failing to secure the Lord's wife and child six years ago.

"Cadell, my most loyal," the High Sovereign acknowledged his presence after waiting a few seconds. I heard from one of the looser-lipped Vritra, that the guy who the Lord once looked up to would have his subjects wait before he decides to converse with them, so he also follows him like that.
