Virgil: Wasn't sure I'd see you again. You managed to get what you need?
Nathan: Yep. I got the courser chip
Virgil: Hmm. Can't say I'm surprised. You did get rid of Kellogg after all. Not too much of a leap to take down a courser. How did you manage to get it decoded?
Nathan: This group called the railroad helped me
Virgil: Oh god. Those kooks? I would have expected they'd be too busy trying to liberate vending machines, or set computer terminals free, or... Sorry. They just have something of a reputation. You're not the only one who's been busy. I did the best I could from memory and things I've overhead through the years
(Virgil hands Nathan some hand drawn schematics)
Virgil: Came up with some schematics for you. It wasn't easy. These hands are ridiculous. Here's the simple explanation. You need to build a device that will hijack the signal the institute uses to teleport coursers, and send you instead. You know the craziest part of the design? That classical music station. That's the carrier signal for the relay. All the data's on the harmonic frequencies. You've been hearing it all along
(Nathan looks at the schematics)
Virgil: I want to be clear that this isn't my area of expertise. I was bioscience. Not engineering or advanced systems or anything
Nathan: Well, I don't exactly have a better plan
Virgil: And for the record, I haven't made any promises. But if you can build this device, and make use of that code, then you should be able to override the signal from the institute's relay. Can you build it? Do you have people that can help? This is a lot for one person. Even you
Nathan: I've got it covered
Virgil: Good. And don't forget our agreement. I've helped you as best I can. If you make it in there, find that serum. It's my only hope for ever being normal again. So take the schematics and get to work. Do whatever it takes. Call on whoever you know that can help you
(Meanwhile)
(Cait and Dallas are on top of a building taking turns sniping super mutants and raiders with an anti-material sniper rifle)
Cait: You were right. Sniper rifles are fun
Dallas: Watch this
(Dallas aims at a super mutant's head and pulls the trigger. The super mutant gets shot in the head, falls off a building, and crushes a raider down below)
Cait: Ok, now you're just showing off
(Cait sighs)
Cait: You have a minute? Got something on my mind
Dallas: Sure. What's up?
Cait: After Tommy stuck me with you, I was expecting to hate your guts. Not only because you agreed to pick up me contract, but because I was waiting for you to order me around like hired help. But so far, you've been treating me like a friend. Hell, you've been damn near nice to me. I don't mean to sound ungrateful, but your kindness is starting to make me wonder
