Portraits $50 - come sit with local artist y/n l/n and have your portrait painted!

The smell of turpentine and old wood surrounded your senses as you readied your paints and canvas for today's customer. On top of the two service jobs you held, you decided to start selling portraits; all with the goal of attending your dream Atelier in Italy. You knew $50 was a low price for a professional portrait, but you also knew that people respected artists less and less these days, and you were a little desperate for extra cash.

Checking the clock, you anxiously waited your client- a miss Yelena. You bounced your knee and sat in silence until the knock at your studio door woke you from your reverie.

"Hi! Welcome to my studio. Are you miss Yelena?" You asked as you greeted the tall woman at the door. She gives you a brief nod and you step aside, letting her stride into the room. You gesture to the love seat you have facing your canvass, trying to gesture in a way that was friendly but also meant getting to business. She sat down and you immediately noticed the way the morning sun shone on her short blonde hair, giving it an ethereal shine. You shook those thoughts from your head and sat down on your stool and readied your tools. Taking a brief moment to pose your subject, you quickly got to work with the sketch and the under painting.

As you painted, you let your mind drift off- letting your body work on autopilot. Unfortunately, instead of thinking about anything useful or productive, you thought about the beauty of the subject in front of you. The smooth plains and sharp angles of her face were stunning, and as you tried to make small talk with her, you got to hear her feminine deep voice that stirred something in your belly. Yelena wasn't very talkative, but sat very patiently as you worked; obviously content just to watch you paint.

After perhaps an hour and a half, you had finished the portrait and spinned the easel around to show the customer the portrait. Yelena unfolded her lanky body from the loveseat and stood in front of the painting. She was quiet, and you couldn't read the expression on her face. You started feeling antsy and self conscious about your work. Maybe she didn't like it? Maybe she actually hated it.

You sat in silence, anxiously waiting Yelena's comments as she continued to gaze at the painting in silence. Finally, Yelena's eyes flit up to meet yours, and her lips curl up into a sly smile.

"You did a wonderful job darling" she says, her smirk growing as she spoke. You felt your face heat up at her little nickname, and you couldn't help yourself but break the intense eye contact between the two of you. You swallows thickly and explained that the painting would take a while to dry, and that you would seal it and ship it for her.

She observed you for a moment, before pulling a receipt out of her back pocket and taking a pen from your table.

"Why don't we discuss it over coffee?" She said and scribbled a phone number on the receipt paper. She held it out to you and your whole faces burned as you took it from her long slender fingers. Once secured in your pocket, the woman Yelena gave you a wink and a suggestive smirk before leaving your studio and a flustered you in silence.
