Chapter four

"What? When? How? Where did this happen?" Bellion sputtered.

"Here, last night, the Goddess sent Artemis to me," Zeke says looking at me with awe.

Turning back to Bellion I hold out my hand, "it's a pleasure to meet you."

He looks at my hand for a second before taking it and giving me a firm hand shake that I return. "Ok... so the Goddess sent you specifically to be my brother's mate? Not our enemies?" He asks skeptical.

Zeke gives a warning growl and I stay where I am, looking at my new brother.

"I understand that this is very sudden, in fact before the Goddess sent me, I was once a member of the Swaying Nightshade Pack," I say and he gives me a funny look.

"What?" I ask tilting my head.

I look at Zeke he says, "We had heard that recently, like maybe three months ago the future Alpha of that pack's mate had her soul split in two.
We didn't know the circumstances of how it came to be, but now his mate's body only has it's wolf soul. I didn't realize that used to be you even after you told me your story."

"She looks like you but with brown hair and eyes or did, now her eyes are wolf gold," Bellion says looking at me like he can't figure me out.

With tears in my eyes for my old wolf I say, "So the Goddess decided against giving Dajaa to another." I never thought badly of my old wolf even if she didn't love me in return.

"Yes.. that had been my body before, the Goddess said that I would look very similar to how I had been before. Just now my body would be stronger, I would also be a complete soul and that I would need to help train Zeke's pack. She also said that she wouldn't just entrust me to anyone," I say looking at Zeke with feeling.

"Did she tell you who our enemies were?" Bellion asked.

"No, just that I would be needed," I say.

"Let's continue this at home, my mate needs food and clothes, and you can stop with the third degree already Bell, unless you want the Goddess to punish you or something," Zeke says and Bellion pales at the thought.

"She won't, I dont think.... but I'm just her reborn warrior," I say shrugging.

"Ok.. ok I believe you let's go," Bell says impatiently walking ahead of us and I start giggling.

Zeke takes my hand and I smile at him.

"Why did the Goddess take you from them?" Bell asks over his shoulder.

"What happened to shutting up till we got home Bell?" Zeke asks annoyed.

"Sorry it's just that seems harsh even for the Goddess," he says softly clearly disturbed by the thought of the Moon Goddess splitting apart someone's soul.

"My former mate didn't want me and felt trapped, obligated to stay with me. Our wolves deeply loved each other and he would have hurt his wolf had he rejected me. That had made my wolf hate and resent me for his treatment.
I asked the Goddess to take me, to free them to have what they want. I thought the Goddess would give my wolf to another person so my former mate would have someone else but I guess not," I say thoughtfully.

Bell stops walking to turn and look at me. "You really would sacrifice yourself to make them all happy? What about you, did you even give a thought to yourself?"

He has a point and the answer is no not really, shaking my head Zeke grumbles under his breath and turns me to him.

"Don't ever take your life so lightly again, I'm your mate now and won't allow you to be so foolish. You are now Luna, our pack will look to you as its mother... in a sense," he says.

I nod and pull him into a kiss.

"Ok stop my eyes!" Bell says and we look at him like "really".

"Let's go, I want alone time with you!" Zeke says wiggling his eyebrows making me laugh and Bell groan out "STOP IT!"

"Bell you're just jealous," Zeke teases while nuzzling me.

"Nope you just disturb me, how would you feel seeing me act like that with my mate?" Bell challenges and Zeke shrugs.

"Just don't have sex infront of me," he says.

"Dude!" Bell says scrunching his face like wtf.

Having been an only child all my life its interesting to see how the two of them interact. From the teasing to Zeke grossing out his brother.

Before I can think better of it I blurt out, "are you a virgin Bell?"

I get my answer at his blush but he says it anyway, "I'm waiting for my mate....it would be in bad taste to be with someone else and it would just feel wrong." He defends himself and I smile.

"Your mate is a lucky person, not all people feel that way. I think that's wonderful!" I'm so happy I hug him making him freeze.

I end the hug quickly since he froze but he just chuckles, "Um thankyou and here I thought you would tease me like our cousins do."

"Not at all, I think it shows that you have a great heart to only want to give it to your other half," I say and Zeke takes my hand.

"What about your case?" Bell asks looking at his brother.

"Well no two stories are the same, ours is special...so we're exempt from the norm," I say shrugging it off.

"You dont mind that you are not his first?" Bell challenges.

"No, like I said our story is different, what matters now is that we are loyal to each other and we dont go to someone else now that we are together." I say and Zeke gives my hand a gentle squeeze saying that he agrees.

"Ok seriously let's go, I'm hungry!" Zeke says and his stomach growls and mine does too.

"Ok wild animals I will feed you! Sheesh.." Bell says and we resume walking to their house.
