We traveled without stopping, I made the others aware of the duty our beloved Goddess had set before us. The vote was unanimous no one wanted to stop to rest so instead we took shifts driving. I had already known that the battle had begun but still hoped to lend a helping hand.

For the first time in a while, if I'm being truly honest. My mind brings forth an image of Artemis. I wonder what she would think of me now? Would she be proud of who I have become? As opposed to whom I was before.

Would she ever have forgiven me for being such a miserable asshole?

*sigh*

I wish I had the chance to see her again, in the flesh so I could hug her. I wanted to apologize in person, not to get back together! Though that would be nice, but let's face it I never deserved her.

Not only was she unfailingly kind, she was strong. Perfect for a Luna, she would have held her position with grace. Fiercely protected our pack and any others she deemed worthy from all harm.

*sighs again*

I can't fathom why this is occupying my brain when I should be resting or focusing on the tasks ahead. Shaking my head I look out the side window and straiten in my seat.

"Sir we're here!"

"Excellent let's get to work people!" I say as I jump out and head towards the wolves currently eyeballing us.

"Hello, we've come to offer aid," I say and a man and woman begin walking towards me.

"Hello my name is Tilly and this is my husband Rye. My friends, the Alpha and Luna of Moon Rising pack mentioned that help in the form of first aid would be arriving from Swaying Nightshade, I assume that is you?"

"Yes, most of us are from Swaying Nightshade, but we also have healers from our neighbors who answered our calls for more aid. If you need help with the battle we have fighters aswell," I said willing to join them.

"Well as you can see we have wounded and malnourished people here," Tilly pointed behind her. "Perhaps we should start there," she smiled and our people got to work.

The healers got down to business assessing everyone to get to the most critical first. While they did that I got the food we prepared and passed it out. I wanted to make sure everyone had something to eat. While I did that, my friend Jim was handing out drinks.

I was surprised that many of the people we were sent to help were children. It hurt my heart to see them so thin, it made me think of my little Rosey. It made me so pissed to think of all that these people have gone through.

As soon as I finish handing out food here, I'm heading to the where the fighting is. If Walker were still inside of me he would be just as pissed as I am. In fact he would be fighting me to go avenge these people.

"We have more wounded incoming!"

"I'm ok really I can keep fighting, please I need to go back!"

I turn to see who was brought out and it's a woman, she has been slashed from her left shoulder to her right hip. From the looks of it she kept fighting for quite some time after, if the amount of blood she has lost is anything to go by. Luckily the wound doesn't appear to have injured her spine.

"Please! My mate is going to be looking for me please let me go back!" She cries out.

Unconsciously I begin to move closer to them, now that I'm looking closer at her I can see more serious injuries that I had missed. She has a very deep gash on her left leg and a puncture wound in her lower left side. She is also unnaturally pale, which isn't a good sign at all.

Feeling compelled to help ease this woman's worry I open my mouth and speak, "What is your mate's name? I will go find them and let them know where you are."

She stops fighting the medics and looks at me, "His name is Bellion, but he answers to Bell. My name is Nora, please tell him not to worry."

"I give you my word I will find your mate and tell him, I will bring him to you. I promise I will," I tell her and send a silent prayer up to the Goddess that I will be successful.

She gives me a nod then let's the healers work without complaint. Turning my back on them I start heading for the stronghold.

"Blaze you weren't planning on going without us were you?"

I look over at my friends and fellow warriors, "not at all I knew you would follow me. I have a mission to find a guy named Bellion, answers to Bell. You all can fight to your hearts content, but you are not permitted to die is that clear?!"

"Yes sir!" They answer in unison.

As we approach the wall a young woman carrying a boy appear.

"Do you need help coming over the rubble?" I ask reaching for her hand.

"Thanks," she answers but as soon as her hand touches mine I feel something I never expected to experience again.

She immediately looks up into my eyes and says the word caught in my throat, "Mate."

Everything fades away for a moment as I'm at a loss for words.

"Blaze we have to go!"

The others shake me out of my daze and time moves again. You guys go ahead I need a minute I say and they move on as the woman, my mate, and the little boy look at me.

"Can I ask your name? And is this your son?" I hope I'm not scaring her.

"My name is Abby, and this is my second cousin Wyatt. Are you going to reject me?" She asks in a whimper.

"No, but I need to go on the battlefield and I also have a past to tell you about. I want you to have an informed opinion before or if you accept me. Is that alright with you?" I hope she agrees.

"I would like that," her smile gives me hope.

"Alright I look forward to our talk for now head that way for medical treatment," I point in the direction we just came from. She nods and leaves as I watch for a second before going to find this Bellion guy.
