Split Spirit

Chapter eight

Today I'm going to be meeting with the pack for the first time, I'm sort of nervous but more excited I think. I don't know where this feeling of confidence has come from but I'm going to roll with it.

I dress in a navy blue blouse with silver thread accents and black dress pants that Zeke had someone go out to buy for me. I wonder how they got my bra size correct, I start imagining him describing fruit and crack up laughing.

I'm still giggling hysterically when he walks in. "What's so funny?" He smiles at me with a raised eyebrow.

"Nothing..." I say winking at him.

"Uh- huh... sure whatever you say baby. So you ready?" He asks.

I look in the mirror, I decided on leaving my hair down, it looks like silvery blue silk. My eyelashes are so full that I don't even need mascara.

"You don't need makeup you are radiant without it," Zeke says hugging me from behind. Kissing my shoulder he breathes in my scent, "you smell amazing."

"Thankyou," I giggle because hes tickling me.

"Ugh.. I don't want to share you yet," he groans leaning his face against my hair while squeezing me.

"Come on babe the faster we do this the sooner we can come back," I say unwrapping his arms enough for me to turn around and face him.

We just kissed when Bell starts yelling at us. "You better not be Mating up there! We're already going to be late if you don't get moving!"

Laughing I pull a reluctant Zeke with me. I'm glad I left my boots downstairs next to the door. "It's about time you got a move on Z, I know you were the one dragging your feet," Bell says.

Rolling his eyes Zeke holds my hand to help me keep my balance as I put my boots on. Our walk over is short, everyone is out back waiting by a small dais that they put up for the occasion.

The moment I turn to everyone they all stare at me and I smile to put them at ease.

A young pup comes up to me and asks to be picked up, her mother comes up to retrieve her with a worried look.
I pick up the pup and she grabs my hair, "ifs weel!" She says shocked.

I giggle at her astonishment, "yes little one my hair is real."

"Luna I'm so sorry she got away from me," the young mother says, I guess she is expected me to reprimand her.

"Pups tend to do that," I smile and I'm happy to see her return it with one of her own.

"Goodmorning everyone as you can see this is my mate and your new Luna Artemis," Zeke says with pride and I wave. Handing the young girl back to her mother I address everyone.

"Goodmorning everyone as you heard my name is Artemis and I am one of the Moon Goddess' warriors. She has asked me to train you all so that you will be able to defend yourselves," I say and a female warrior steps forward.

"How do we know this isn't some kind of trick? Also we heard that the former soon to be Alpha from Swaying Nightshade pack's mate was named Artemis, so how could you possibly be our Luna?" She asks and Zeke growls so loud everyone but me submits.

"She has smart questions Zeke, especially given the past events you told me about." I say placing a hand on his chest to calm him, turning back to the warrior I continued, "however that being said her tone leaves much to be desired. Yes, I was the human half of his mate, but the Goddess split me from my former mate and wolf. I have been reborn as a complete soul and have been made one of her warriors. She has entrusted me to your Alpha as his mate and your Luna. Now rise all of you," I said in my Luna voice, even without my ceremony I have the power.

The female warrior steps up and bows before me, "apologies Luna, it's just our enemies are relentless and many. Please tell me my punishment," she says looking at my feet.

"I understand and respect the fact you voiced your concerns, it takes great will and fortitude to put the lives of others above your own. Stand and tell me your name," I tell her and she does as asked.

"My name is Nora Skye, Luna you haven't yet given me my punishment," she says tilting her head.

"I see no reason to punish someone who has done no great wrong, you apologized for your tone and you won't be using it against me again will you?" I ask.

"No Luna I will not," Nora says and I smile at her.

"Good then when it comes time to train you shall assist when I ask," I say and Zeke laughs.

Nora blushes and nods like a bobblehead. After that everyone came up to meet me introducing themselves. Zeke announces that my Luna ceremony will be held on the next full moon then dismisses everyone to go about their business.

Bell excuses himself to check on things because Zeke still just wants time alone with me.

Speaking of Zeke, after Bell turns to go he lifts me off my feet throwing me over his shoulder and runs back to the house with me laughing the whole way there.

The rest of the day is spent with us naked and leaving our mixed scent all over the place, much to Bell's dismay when he got back.

"Eww... I better not sit in any of your bodily fluids Z!" Bell yells.

We had just come back to our room, thank the Goddess!

"Then you better look before you sit!" Zeke sticks his head out of the door yelling.

"SO FUCKING GROSS!!!" Bell yells back.

Omfg I'm dieing of embarrassment! I cover my face and Zeke laughs pulling my hands away.

"I love to see that blush of yours especially when I make you flushed from other means," his voice is deep, filled with lust and love.

He leans over me kissing me passionately, "I love you Artemis."

"I love you too Zeke with all my heart and soul," I say and he snuggles me wrapping around me holding me close. I fall asleep feeling safe, loved, and cherished like I always wished to be.
