Once we had landed, we left Dorothy's room to see where we were. We went to the front door and opened it. Outside of the house was a colorful, magical land where everything was so beautiful. As we stepped outside, we were in awe when we saw that everything was colorful. We looked around where there were flowers, a pond, tiny hatched huts, and a spiraling yellow brick walkway.
"Toto, (Y/N)... I have a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore," Dorothy said
"Well, you're not wrong," I said
Beside the beautiful scenery was a small town. Everything looked so small compared to us. Dorothy put Toto down as a bubble floated down towards us as it approached. Then a woman appeared. She was wearing a pink gown with a matching crown, auburn curly hair, and carried a long magic wand. Who is she? She looks like a fairy princess without the wings and was about my height.
"Now I know we're not in Kansas," I said
"Are you good witches or bad witches?" The woman asked us
"Who, us?" Dorothy asked as the woman nodded, "Why, we're not witches at all. I'm Dorothy Gale from Kansas."
"And I'm (Y/N) (L/N). I'm also from Kansas," I said
"Oh. Well, is that the witch?" She asked pointing to Toto
"Who, Toto? Toto's my dog," Dorothy explained
The woman giggled, "Oh well, I'm a little muddled. The Munchkins called me because two new Witches have just dropped the house on the Wicked Witch of the East. And there's the house and here you two are and that's all that's left of the Wicked Witch of the East."
We looked over at the house which had landed on this Wicked Witch of the East who is wearing a pair of ruby slippers. Well, safe to say we weren't expecting that!
"And so, what the Munchkins want to know is, are you two Good Witches or Bad Witches?" she asked again
"But Dorothy already told you, we're not witches at all. Witches are old and ugly," I said just as I heard giggling, "What was that?"
"The Munchkins. They're laughing because I am a witch. I'm Glinda the Witch of the North," the woman, seemingly known as Glinda, explained
"You are?" I asked shocked, "Well, I beg your pardon. But I've never heard of a beautiful witch before."
"Only bad witches are ugly. The Munchkins are happy because you have freed them from the Wicked Witch of the East."
"Oh, but if you please, what are Munchkins?" Dorothy asked as the Munchkins giggled again
"The little people who live here. It's Munckinland and you two are their national heroine my dears," Glinda said before looking at the bushes, "It's all right. You may all come out and thank them."
All the Munchkins came out of hiding. They're so small! At least the size of a dwarf or a five-year-old. Glinda started to sing to them to come out and that we had fallen from a star and accidentally killed the Wicked Witch of the East. But Dorothy and I explained what happened in the house when the twister came and took us to this place. Either way, the Munchkins were pleased to know that the Witch was dead. The celebration lasted a long while. They were all just happy that we had killed her.
We were put in a small carriage where we were thanked again and were taken around the town to wake up the others. We got to the Mayor where, I think, he revealed the name of the place we're in. Oz. The name of the world is Oz. That's oddly simple. He welcomed us but someone explained that they had to check that the witch was for sure dead. She was, thankfully. So, the celebration continued. A Lullaby League and Lollipop Guild also welcomed us to Munchkinland. How much bother did this witch cause to have all this?
Either way, it was very sweet. When we were brought back to Glinda, the Munchkins cheered. But suddenly, red smoke appeared and a woman with green skin who wore a black dress, black cloak, a black pointed hat, and a broomstick appeared. Another witch? The Munchkins were frightened so they scattered from her. Dorothy picked up Toto and Glinda holds us protectively. The Witch went over to the house to see what had happened.
"I thought you said she was dead," Dorothy said
"That was her sister, the Wicked Witch of the East. This is the Wicked Witch of the West and she's worse than the other one was," Glinda said
The Wicked Witch of the West walked over to us, "Who killed my sister? Who killed the Witch of the East? Was it you two?"
"No, no it was an accident. We didn't mean to kill anybody," I said defending Dorothy
"Well, my little pretty. I can cause accidents too!"
"Aren't you forgetting the ruby slippers?" Glinda asked the witch
The witch left us to get the slippers. She reached for them but they disappeared and the feet disappeared
"They're gone! The ruby slippers! What have you done to them? Give them back to me or I'll..."
"It's too late! There they are, and there they'll stay!" Glinda interrupted and pointed to Dorothy's feet
The ruby slippers were on Dorothy's feet now!
"Give me back my slippers!" The witch told Dorothy, "I'm the only one who knows how to use them. They're no use to you. Give them back to me. Give them back!"
"Keep tight inside of them. Their magic must be very powerful or she wouldn't want them so badly," Glinda told Dorothy
Dorothy nodded
"You stay out of this, Glinda, or I'll fix you as well!" The Witch threatened
"Oh, rubbish! You have no power here. Begone, before somebody drops a house on you too!" Glinda said
"Very well. I'll bide my time. And as for you, my fine ladies, it's true I can't attend to you here as I'd like. But just try to stay out of my way! Just try! I'll get you my pretties and your little dog too!"
The Witch cackled evilly then she disappeared in a cloud of red smoke and the Munchkins all gasped in fright. Once she was gone, Glinda assured everyone that they were safe now. But we're definitely an enemy now to the witch. Glinda suggested that we find a way out of Oz before the witch causes us any harm. Sounds like a plan but how do we achieve that? We're certainly not taking the house back. Glinda suggested seeing the great and wonderful Wizard of Oz.
He can help us get back to Kansas. And where is he? He lives in the Emerald City but it's a long journey. Glinda asked us if we had a broomstick so we could fly there. We aren't witches so no. After being told this, Glinda told us to follow the Yellow Brick Road. Glinda then left in the same bubble she arrived in. Okay then, off on the yellow brick road to Emerald City. I hope this is all worth it.
(A/N: Sorry I didn't add the lyrics to the Munchkinland song. I just felt like it took up some unnecessary space. See you in the next chapter)
