Chapter Six: The Witches Castle

So, our plan was to capture the Witch and take the broomstick. Whether it would work or not, I don't know but we'll give it a try. We walked until it was dark out. We reached a sign that told us where the Witches castle was and another saying, 'I'd turn back if I were you.' Lion happily tried to obey the sign but Scarecrow and Tinman just turned him around. We walked on and Lion was trying to be all tough. But, he heard some owls and vultures in the trees and started running in the opposite direction.

Tinman and Scarecrow just followed and carried him back to me and Dorothy. I hope he gets his courage after this because this is getting ridiculous now. Scarecrow was starting to believe there were spooks around here. I don't know if he means just scares or if they're creatures. Tinman didn't believe in Spooks until something picked him up into the trees and dropped him near another tree. We helped him up as Lion chanted that he did believe in Spooks. Now's not the time to be scared. We're here for the broomstick!

We helped Tinman up just as we saw something flying towards us. Well, a lot of things! We tried to run away but the creatures landed and started to attack us. They were flying monkeys! We tried to fight them off the best we could but that only gave three of them the opportunity to take Dorothy and Toto! They all left with Dorothy. But, why didn't they take me? Maybe it's because of the ruby slippers. Scarecrow called us for help so we ran over. He was in pieces! The monkeys had unstuffed him and threw his straw everywhere!

We started to stuff him back up and put him back together. So much for getting him re-stuffed. Most of it is gone now. As we were almost done, Toto came running to us. He escaped! Toto barked at us wanting us to follow him. He'll take us to Dorothy. So, Scarecrow stood up with a bit of trouble but we helped him and we made our way to the Witches Castle. Toto decided not to take the road but to climb up the cliff the castle was on. We helped each other climb up, almost falling at some points but we managed. We hid behind some rocks finally at the top.

"What's that? What's that?" Lion asked pointing at the castle. 

"That's the castle of the Wicked Witch," Tinman said

"Dorothy's in that awful place?" I asked

"Oh, I hate to think of her in there. We've got to get her out," Tinman said crying

"Don't cry now. We haven't got the oilcan with us, and you've been squeaking enough as it is," Scarecrow told him

"Who's them? Who's them?" Lion asked pointing at something

We looked to see some guards outside the castle chanting something that I couldn't make out. 

"I've got a plan how to get in there," Scarecrow said

"Fine. He's got a plan," Lion said

"And you're gonna lead us."

"Yeah," Lion suddenly realized, "Me?"

"Yes, you," I said

"I gotta get her out of there?" Lion asked

"That's right," Tinman said

"All right, I'll go in there for Dorothy. Wicked Witch or no Wicked Witch. Guards or no guards, I'll tear them apart. I may not come out alive, but I'm going in there. There's only one thing I want you fellas to do."

"What's that?" We asked

"Talk me out of it," Lion tried to leave

We stopped him from leaving. I know he's a coward but he was doing so well before this. We went a little bit closer to the castle and planned a little more. We had to stop Toto from barking in case he got us caught. Which we soon learned it did because four guards were behind us. They started to attack us but we just fought back, eventually winning. Scarecrow then had a new idea and that involved putting on the guards uniform and just walking in. We joined the line and walked in like Scarecrow said in his plan. This actually worked.

Toto then led the rest of the way from there. We followed him up the stairs and to a door that was locked. We called from the other side to Dorothy to see if she was in there. She was and explained that the Which had an hourglass set for who knows how long and it was almost empty. We got the uniforms off quickly and Tinman used his axe to break down the door. We set her free and started to run. We almost made it to the door when it slammed in our faces!

The Witch had caught us! She had guards surround up and point their spears at us. I had still kept mine from one of the guards who jumped us so I pointed it at them. They didn't kill us straight away. Almost a second later, Scarecrow used Tinman's axe to chop a rope that held up a chandelier. It crashed on the guards and we ran for it. We followed Scarecrow up another flight of stairs. We were now outside on the bridge that led to different towers of the castle.

We just followed Scarecrow but some guards cut us off so we went the other way only to be cut off by more guards and the Witch! We were cornered now! The Witch walked over telling us that she was going to kill us off one by one while the last person alive watches. She started with Scarecrow. She lit the end of her broom on fire and pointed it at Scarecrow.

His arm caught on fire so we looked for something to put out the fire! Dorothy found a bucket full of water which she threw on Scarecrow and the Witch on accident. She started to melt into nothing. We killed her. One of the guards poked his spear on the pile of clothes that remained. 

"She's... She's dead, you killed her," The guard said to Dorothy

"I didn't mean to kill her, really I didn't. It's just that he was on fire," Dorothy explained

"Hail to Dorothy! The Wicked Witch is dead!" 

"Hail! Hail to Dorothy! The Wicked Witch is dead!" The guards said kneeling

"May we have that?" I asked pointing to the broom

"Please. And take it with you," The guard said giving it to me

"Oh, thank you so much! Now we can go back to the Wizard and tell him the Wicked Witch is dead!" Dorothy said smiling

"The Wicked Witch is dead!"
