CHAPTER SEVENTEEN

LEWIS POV

Reality hit me after I saw the last message on Selena's phone. I quickly packed my belongings and messaged Angela to meet me in the hotel lobby. A car was already waiting to take me to London for me to be as far away from her as possible. My mind had started to drift off but Angela suddenly appeared in my view.

"Hey Lewis", she said to me.

"Wait a minute, where are you off to with your luggage at this late hour, we are scheduled to leave tomorrow before you head to Monaco", she asked looking around.

"Selena is cheating", I replied.

"How did you come to this conclusion please?", she queried.

"I read a message on her phone Angela, I shouldn't have but I did, I was curious when the message came in and she was fast asleep", I said to her.

"What did the message say?", she asked me.

"What did it say?", she carefully repeated her question.

"Love you too", I said looking extremely upset.

"You know what, I will go to my room and get my things, we will leave together while I make some calls, I know you are hurt but I don't want you to base your action on just a message", she said and gave me a pat on my back while she walked to the lift and was down in another 10 minutes.

During the car ride home, she placed a call out to a friend of hers who was a private investigator and gave him Selena's details. Angela informed him that her friend was in a relationship with Selena but suspected her for infidelity and he promised to get information back to her in a week. All this time I was sat in the car and quiet, I didn't say a word, I had given her everything but she had been unfaithful to me. There was no need for the investigator because I know what I saw, but Angela kept insisting we had taken the appropriate steps.

The two-hour journey to London was done before I even realized it. I got my luggage into my house and sat on the couch. Angela promised to come back by 9am later since she needed to rest a bit but I couldn't sleep. I found myself awake till the break of dawn thinking where I went wrong. I had given her everything but it seemed it just wasn't enough.

"Control, Lewis Control", I said to myself and I found myself relaxing before drifting off to sleep.

SELENA POV

I woke up by 5:30am that morning and stretched my left arm out on the bed to see if Lewis was there but to my surprise he wasn't. I knew that I left him awake before I fell asleep but I didn't want to believe he had left me alone in his room, but one look around and it was glaring he was not present. His belongings were gone, his charger, boxes, name it, they were all gone. I quickly dressed up, carefully left his room and dropped the access card at the reception before I went back to my room.

Worry was evident in me, I wasn't properly thinking, as a matter of fact I didn't even know what to think but I know I felt the worst. Lewis wasn't picking my calls, nor did he reply the messages I sent. I sat down on the couch and put my hands in my head and feared the worst. Maybe he had met someone else and didn't feel the same way about me anymore. What could the issue be exactly?

Shower was swift and I got dressed to leave the hotel immediately but then a call came into my phone. It was Jeffery.

"Hi Jeffery, how are you? is there any update?", I asked him.

"Yes Selena, dad is going to have surgery in the next eighteen hours, they want to take out his prostrate completely, it should give him a better chance of surviving", he said to me.
