CHAPTER NINETEEN

The last two weeks went by really fast and I prepared for the Berlin Fashion week. I landed earlier in Germany's capital and lodged in the hotel reservation booked in advanced by Dolce & Gabbana's team at the city central.

I now faced my modelling full time since it also helped me feel better and accept the current realities life had thrown at me, but I had experienced exhaustion in the last two days causing me to schedule a visit to the hospital the day after the show.

Domenico and Steffano Gabbana had informed me I would work with Neymars' popular girlfriend Bruna Marquezine as the front models for all the pieces on the runway session. We met up for breakfast the next morning in order to get acquainted with each other and become friends. She was a beauty and I was thrilled to meet her but she surprised me with her reaction.

"Hello Selena", she said to me.

"Hi Bruna, I'm pleased to meet you", I said in awe. I had always admired her and thought she was a natural beauty.

"No the pleasure is all mine Selena, I had been wanting to meet you for so long and I'm glad we finally met", she said cheerfully.

"I'm honored", I said laughing and she brought out her phone and took a selfie capturing both of us.

"What's your Instagram handle so I can follow you?" she asked.

"It's @selenareiss, I already follow you", I responded.

"I'm working on getting it verified, before the end of the today", I added and she nodded.

She posted the picture to her page and her Instastory with a caption

"Finally met this beauty @selenareiss, she's more beautiful in reality and even the professional pictures don't do her justice. Watch us take the Berlin Fashion show by storm'.

Her post generated so many comments and new followers for me. Breakfast was fun and we both returned to our rooms to rest ahead of the rehearsals later that day.

Allison called later that evening and confirmed my Instagram account was now verified. She was optimistic that my working with Dolce & Gabbana alongside Bruna was going to bring bigger prospects for me and push me high up in the modelling industry. I had gradually gotten myself together though there were times when I still broke down but I knew I was headed in the right direction.

A notification on my phone prompted me to open it and it displayed a mail from Ferrari. I was surprised they had contacted me so soon. When Lando told me about them I didn't put my mind though I hoped there would be positive news from that angle. I calmed myself down to read.

We would like to offer you a role in the Ferrari Scuderia Mission Winnow team as a Data Analyst / strategist.

Kindly respond to this mail if you are interested and will be available to discuss the contract terms and agreement on Monday the 15th ahead of the Turkish Grand Prix the Sunday after.

Wow. Ferrari had indicated their intention to employ me as part of their racing team but was I up for it? Hell yeah.!!!

Look at me thinking my life in the racing world was over. My Mercedes contract was terminated just over two months ago but somehow one of their two biggest rivals had contacted me. I called Lando immediately.
