"Oh, yeah?"
"Yeah." Tae was quiet as he played with clay in his hands, kneading it out. "It's been interesting."
"That's nice." You tied the apron around your waist and sighed before picking up your phone, pulling up your reference photo.
Setting it down on the work table, you looked around as others began to pack up to leave. Looking up at Taehyung, he was already ready to go. He had your piece out and everything.
"I think it would cool to incorporate some of that into this piece."
You looked up in shock. "You want to add metal to the painting?"
He shrugged. "It's a lot of fun, you know." He picked up your phone for the reference photo and titled his head. "Maybe on the back? Like-- I'm not sure? Maybe we could ask hyung but I think it'd look really good if the silver contrasted with the blue."
"But won't it be hard to work with the fire and stuff-- don't you use those torches to melt the metal or whatever to bend it." Tae smiled at you as you looked up at him. You looked away.
"It's a lot of fun, y/n-- I'll teach you."
Not bothering to respond to this, you moved away, turning your back to him. "Let's just get to work on this first."
You could tell Tae was standing still behind you as the studio cleared out entirely. Just shaking your head and taking a deep breath, you headed to the sink to grab a dish of water.
"Y/N." You hummed. "Y/N."
"Yeah?"
"I'm sorry." You didn't glance back. "I am."
"About what, Taehyung?"
"I don't know-- lashing out at you for the psychology thing." You looked back and he was scratching his head, staring at the ground. His deep voice had you turning away from him again. "I'm sorry that I yelled over something so stupid."
"Yeah."
He sighed loudly and you felt him get close to you, walking closer. Gripping the edge of the table you were standing in front of, you felt his arms go around you from behind you like they had so many times before.
"I'm sorry."
You pulled your arms up in front of you, keeping him behind you as you'd always done. "It's okay, Tae."
"I'm sorry."
"It's okay." He sighed and began to let go of you and you shut your eyes tight. It was your turn to let out a sigh as you turned. It surprised you to see him still so close to you. He let out a chuckle and took a step back. Running your fingers through your hair you shook your head to yourself.
"I'm taking part now, you now." He smiled as he picked up a paintbrush, examining the bristles.
"Yeah?"
"Yeah. T/GF is doing it so she asked me to work with her." You nodded. "Who are you working with?"
"Jungkook? Jeon? Remember him?"
"Oh, right, right, I knew that." Tae glanced at you as you smiled, mixing paint on a palette. "So, uh--" he cleared his throat, "I heard you guys are getting close?"
"Hm?"
"You and Jeon?" You looked up.
"We're friends? We've been close for a while now."
"Right." He reached for your palette and you took the sheets off of your painting that you'd been protecting it with. "He seems cool."
"He is, yeah."
