Y/N's POV a week prior: We are just walking through a snowy London when my 6 year old daughter Lexie pulls on my coat and points through a window.
"Daddy, wook! A puppy!" She squeals adorably at a german shepherd puppy sitting in the window.
"They're adorable, aren't they, princess?" I respond to my daughter, admiring her cute little smile.
"Can we have them, pwease!?" My 3 year old son Oscar asks, bouncing up and down. I hesitate before telling them "Sorry, little man but a puppy takes a lot of your time. Plus we have 2 doggies at home don't we?" I rhetorically ask him, making him frown and pout. I look up at Leigh-Anne whom whispers into my ear "Why not get them it for Christmas?" I smile and nod at that idea.
"We'll see..." Leigh tells them, brightening their faces up.
"You go off, I got to buy them some presents." I whisper to Leigh and she nods, taking the kids with her. When she's out of sight, I head into a jewellery shop. We've been off and on again for 10 years and it's primarily because she wants to get married but I've been hesitant! But I've got to make this Christmas a special one.
"Hello there, sir. How may I help you?" The man at the desk asks me.
"I would like to purchase a engagement ring as a Christmas surprise for my girlfriend." I reply. He nods and brings me to the ring section.
"We have a big selection of engagement rings priced from £100 to £10,000. What price range are you after?" He explains, turning to me.
"Something between £500 and £1,000, my girlfriend is quite extravagant when it comes to jewellery." I explain, making him chuckle.
"What's your girlfriend's name, because we do customized rings, if you are intrested?" He tells me, hopefully.
"I'll take a customized ring, her name is Leigh-Anne, Leigh-Anne Pinnock from Little Mix." I reply, grinning.
"My kids love Little Mix!" He exclaims, happily before presenting me with the ring. I pay for it and put it in the box, slipping it into my bag before heading to the aforementioned pet shop.Loud barks from each dog, meows from each kitty and other animal noises are all that is heard in this shop.
"Hello, sir. How can I help you today?" The shopkeeper enthusiastically greets me.
"I was wondering if the german shepherd puppy in the window was for sale?" I inquire, he nods and questions me "Of course! would you like to adopt him?" I nod enthusiastically before signing the papers and receiving my new pup whom I've decided to name Ollie.Present day: "Kids, come open your presents from Santa!" I call out, taking a sip from my cup of coffee. My girlfriend walks into the room, carrying a cup of hot chocolate and sitting next to me as our kids pile into the room. Every year we give them an entire sack of presents each and allow them to open them after breakfast.
"Go on, open the presents" I tell them with a yawn, I lean back on the couch and wrap my arm around Leigh-Anne's shoulder and cuddle up with her. The snap and crackle from our fireplace puts us in a very Christmasy mood. After all the presents are done, they both are very content with what they got as we somehow taught them the true meaning of Christmas early on and they should be happy no matter what they get.
"Alright, me and daddy got the two of you one more very special present." My girlfriend tells them, I get up and head to our bedroom.I open the closet door and find the little puppy playing with a little toy. It's been in here for a week now with me feeding it some puppy food for when Harvey was a pup. Speaking of which, Harvey and Kyro appear next to me, sniffing the small dog in the box.
"Come on boys, it's time for Lexie and Oscar to meet your little brother" I tell them, picking the box up and carrying it downstairs, grabbing the ring box as well. Here goes nothing!
"Alright, this is a very fragile object so be very careful with it" I say as I put the box in front of them and pull out my phone and record them opening the box."A puppy! It's a puppy!" My daughter squeals, cutely lifting the puppy out of the box.
"It's the same one that yous saw in the shop a week ago..." I tell them, smiling. I watch them cheer and play with the puppy, then turn to my girlfriend.
"Darling, I have something special for you as well. Something that you've wanted for a long time now but I've been hesitant." I tell her, putting my coffee down and getting down on one knee, pulling the ring out of my pocket. "Wi-will you make me the luckiest man on earth and b-be Mrs Leigh-Anne Y/L/N?" I stammer nervously.
"Yes, a million times yes!" She replies, beaming and I can see her eyes glistening with tears.-y/s/m/n (your social media name) : A definite Christmas to remember! Merry Christmas everyone! -leighannepinnock
