Summary: You and Jade grew up in South Shields together, being best friends from your nappy days as your mum was and continues to be best friends with Jade's mam. Norma and Y/M/N had loads of photos and videos of you two when you were younger so they decide to embarrass you with a video of you two playing in the garden as kids.

Y/N's POV: Me and Jade are doing this radio interview with Capital's Roman Kemp this morning and everything seems to be going normal with the mentions of Little Mix and my recent blockbuster film but then this suddenly happens...

"So everyone knows that you two have known each other before you were even famous, how long exactly has it been that you've known one another?" Roman asks us two, smiling at the both of us.
"Nearly 3 decades now, we have been best mates since we were around 2 years old." Jade reveals, interlocking our fingers underneath the table. "Now, we're happily engaged and I haven't regretted a thing!"

I grin at her before looking back at Roman.

"So with that being said, your mothers have sent in a little video of the two of you as youngsters so here it is!"

- 1997, when you and Jade were 4 years old-

Y/N comes running into the view with Jade and they are both smiling their faces off, the camera pans to Norma and Y/M/N who both smile at their children interacting.
"Mummy, can I marry Jadey!?" Y/N shouts, gaining his mother's attention.
"I'll consider it, buddy! You know that Jade is a precious person so she needs a lot of care!" Y/M/N responds to her son's question.
"I'll treat her like a Disney Princess, make her daisy chains and build forts with her!" Y/N promises, causing Norma and Y/M/N to both laugh at his words.

"That video always warmed my heart when Mam would show it to me, our families basically were one so we always celebrated birthdays, Christmas and even went on holiday together and Mam had a Christmas tradition to always show us that video and she still does it now!" Jade tells him as the video ends.
"How old were you both there?" Roman asks, pointing towards the screen.
"We must had been around 4-5 years old and we were at my house for a playdate when that was filmed, it was somewhen in 1997 in South Shields." I answer, smiling at the video on the screen.

"We have another video that Y/N's mother specifically sent to us, let's take a look, shall we?"

-1994, when you and Jade were 2-

"Y/N, darling, I have a question for you?" His mother tells him, walking into the living room with the camera to find him playing with his toy cars.
"What?" He answers, looking up at her.
"You know your little friend Jade?" She asks him and he nods, giggling. "Do you think she's pretty?"
"Yes, mumma! I think she's weally pretty! I love her!" He responds, chuckling adorably.
"What's your favourite thing about her?" She asks him another question and Y/N takes a few seconds to think about it.
"I really like her eyes because they are like the nice leaves during autumn and I love autumn!" He responds before the clip ends.

"Why was that so wholesome?" Roman asks, grinning at the pair across the room from him. "You were really cute when you were younger!"
"I didn't know you felt that way about me when you were two years old!" Jade tells me, hugging my arm.
"Y/N Y/L/N, a ladies man since day 1, people!" I joke, dramatically flicking my hair, making everyone laugh. "I got all the girls with this gorgeous face!"

"Here's the final clip that was surfacing the internet recently that Jade's mam posted on Jade's birthday!"

-2002, when Jade and Y/N were 10 years old-

Y/N's POV: This year for Jade's 10th birthday, I decided to get her a special gift for her, so with my pocket money, I bought a necklace for her with 'Jade and Y/N forever' inscribed onto it.

"So here is Y/N's gift for you, honey." Norma hands Jade the present from me with my horrendous gift-wrapping skills. Jade looks up and smiles at me before unwrapping the present.

She lifts the necklace out of the box before getting up and giving me a cuddle.
"I love it!" She exclaims before I fasten the necklace around her neck.
"Aren't you two just adorable, aye?" Norma coos, smiling at us both.

"You two are officially the most wholesome and adorable couple, there is no argument!" Roman chuckles as the last clip ends.
"I spent all of my pocket money on that present, so it should be one of your most prized possessions, Miss Thirlwall!" I comment, making Jade laugh.
"I do still have it in my possession, 20 years on and I'll continue to cherish it for the rest of my life!" She promises and I give her a kiss on the cheek.
