YOU CAREFULLY TREADED against the world's floor, knowing you were in new territory. the neighboring cubes made a new shift and you decided to go out on your own to explore and record calculations from this new cube with a brand new id number. it would definitely build onto ponk's new research records. once you were done, confirming the id number, you put your journal away, ensuring you'd pay attention to where you were walking.
you currently had your torch on your offhand and it was night time, everything almost pitch black in the forests around you except for some light from stars and what looked to be a supernova happening, leaving trails of mist littered within the stars that you've never witnessed before in a night sky. it looked like a galaxy was falling apart and turning into a magic carpet to cradle the other stars, its vibrant colors stretching out to appear like an irregular spider web attempting to still string together despite a star literally combusting.
you were steady on your feet, keeping a neat trail of torches behind you that clung onto the forest trees so you could find your way back if you decided to do so. you were also on high alert, being able to kill off mobs easily and avoiding hoards of them that would take up a lot more of your time and energy. you decided that you felt like heading to the middle since you were currently in a neighboring corner cube. if you wanted to get to the neighboring cube which was on the west side of the smp cube, you needed to access a bottom door which was always at the cords 2560, 0, 2560 no matter the circumstance since every cube was the same size except the white room where XD resided in.
as you continued, you spotted a creeper up in the distance. before you could react, you heard the crunch of a branch to your side, prompting you to whip your head around. was that another mob? you questioned. then all of a sudden, the creeper in the distance exploded, startling you. something must've triggered it but i'm so far away.. you mentally reasoned, being confused. you continued on walking forward, thinking it was a weird experience but it will probably only happen once. even animals don't seem to taunt mobs but maybe it's a rare occurrence. who knows. shrugging it off, you continued despite sensing an off feeling in the bottom of your gut.
for a while, you trekked closer and closer to the center until you kept seeing something passing by in your peripherals. when you saw it again, it made you go insane, halting in your steps and whipping your head around crazily. what the fuck was that? you kept seeing these obscure, black shapes speeding by, sometimes followed by the sound of rustling which you just thought was the wind, an animal, or the cube making weird noises once in a while. but it kept happening over and over again. at this point, your heart rate and blood pressure raised, prompting your body to go into fight or flight.
