LOCATION
THE IN-BETWEEN.

KARL IS AN INTERESTING character to you. someone who was used and abused by their own demise in time travel. everything seemed to slowly crumble around karl, and in turn affected him from within. you felt a lot of sympathy for him, feeling that he talked compassionately about his past while letting the events defame and break him. you could practically hear his heart strings crack apart.

despite all the trauma dumping he let out on you, he was pretty satisfied of where he is now. yeah he may be lonely once in a while and uses his powers to hangout with his friends until he found the one and only peaceful smp but even then, he held his head up in a content mood. he couldn't have made things any better and he accepted that fact, going on with his life hoping to keep using his powers for the greater good or to discover something new that would lay out his future. maybe he could treat unexpected events as a positive thing.

this mindset retracted the negativity in air as karl was now smiling, joking around with you and let out his signature giggles that relieved your ear drums. you couldn't even wrap your head around how casually karl goes about such an incompetent past that has no choice but to follow him around and layout displeasurable disposition and destruction yet wasn't supposed to hurt him in the first place. he was the one that had full control of his powers after all, yet his own powers had more control over him than he thought. was he really the one to blame?

all in all, karl was a complex person living a simple life, and the fact that he was okay in the present was all that really mattered. slipping away from the one-of-a-kind warmth of the greenhouse room, you let him give you a tour around the various corridors of the in-between, being reminded of the pride palace with its grand library, butterfly conservatory area, and hallway dedicated to greek mythology etched in stone. there was a decorative room of water fountains layered within doorways and a mirror maze that messed around with your head, seeing your smiling face reflecting off a thousand copies of yourself [euphoria reference woohoo].

but there came a time where forever isn't real. karl knew this too. he felt it in his blood and he was well aware of it. time did continue but its people and metaphysics and demeanors do not last as long as time itself. you began feeling yourself wanting to depart, compelling you to advance forward. you didn't wanna leave the in-between. it was such a beautiful place of minimalism and tranquility clashed into one. the place could literally transform into whatever you pleased on karl's accord. it was a getaway. karl's getaway though, which leads you to think that you never deserved to be here in the first place.
