Often times, inspiration won't come to you
It makes you stressed, and may be hair pulling
But it's okay as long as your mind is still thinking.

LOCATION
LONDON.

—— YOUR FINGERS CURLED UP on the black screen and you shut your laptop with a quiet thud. you let out a sigh, putting your head up against the wall behind you and feeling the aching of your joints settle in from typing so much. when you turned to your cell phone and paused your music, your ears instantly filled with the loud, overbearing rail squeaking of the jubilee line, the train riding through underground tunnels at 62 miles per hour.

you noticed your cell phone was running low on battery, making you sigh again. your gaze diverted to the ceiling, thinking about the comfort of home. you didn't really like riding the jubilee line that often. it felt pretty depressing. but it was the fastest and cheapest way to go with the way you're living. you took your silver earbuds out and had a moment to yourself, liking the fact that there was barely anyone sitting around you, and if there was, you saw them absorbed in books or magazines or even sleeping.

11:39 pm.

you finally stepped off the station. you were used to coming home at night but not this late. you were hoping mama was okay. she should be home by now. the night sky barely had any stars sparkling over london, the street lamps being the only thing lighting your way. what a pity.

you let the white patches on your sneakers get scuffed more by the sidewalk, shuffling about until you reached your flat. when you walked inside and got to your shared flat door, you fumbled with the keys for a bit before inserting it in the doorknob and unlocking it. upon opening the door and entering, the site of books piled around the couch was unchanged and your ears were met with the sound of classic music softly playing throughout the room. you recognized it as chopin's nocturne op. 9 no. 2, a relaxing piano piece. you spotted the music being emitted from a traditional LP.
