PHILPPE Salvatore’s son joined them for dinner. Hindi pa rin makapaniwala si Helise na ang bagong tagapamahala ng Salvatore vineyard ay kaibigan ng kuya Henry niya! Hindi niya alam kung anong mararamdaman niya. Is it a good thing that he had a connection with her brother to make him change his mind and re-supply their wines to MHAR?
Indeed! Kalli was right when he said last time that ‘see you soon’ words. She just didn’t expect this kind of meeting! At hindi binanggit sa kanya ng kuya niya na anak pala ito ni Don Philippe!
“My son just came back from Spain a week ago and I’m so glad that he’s here so that I can finally retire.” kwento ng matanda habang kumakain sila.
“But you’re still sharp and strong sir, you can still manage the vineyard until your nineties!” sabi ni Helise.
“Is that so?” humalakhak ito.
Napalingon si Helise kay Philip na hinihiwa ang steak ng maayos bago pinalit iyon sa pagkaing hindi pa nagagalaw ng ama.
“Thanks son.” sabi ni Don Philipe. “Oh, as I have said, she is the vice chairman of Mercado hotels, wife of Tristan Mercado.”
“Yeah, I know papa.” sagot nito bago lumingon kay Helise. “I heard a lot about you.”
“Huh?”
Tumawa naman ang matanda. “Ah! Palagi kitang nababanggit sa kanya as an example of a good leadership in business.”
“Oh! Thank you sir! I was fluttered.” sabi niya. Now, back to business. “About the unclosed deal of you and my husband.... Would you mind to discuss the resupplying of wines in our hotels and restaurant with me?” she bluntly asked Kalli.
She couldn’t waste her time knowing that her husband didn’t closed the deal.
“Sure. You can just give me the contract and I’ll just sign it right away.” simpleng sagot nito bago sinubo ang isang hiwa ng steak.
Helise was dumbfounded. Just like that? He was signing without any discussion? Then why did he reject her husband? Napalingon siya kay Don Philippe na para bang nahahalata nito ang pagkalito ni Helise pero ngitian lamang siya ng matanda.
Ahh! Maybe because he realised that she was Henry’s sister!
Natapos ang dinner na iyon, sumama si Helise na ihatid si Don Philippe sa sasakyan ni Kalli. Magalang siyang nagpaalam sa matanda pero hindi pa rin siya umalis hanggang sa umikot na si Kalli papunta sa pinto ng driver’s seat.
Lumapit si Helise dito. “If you have time, we can discuss the proposal on Monday. I’ll be back in my office that day.”
Kalli licked his lower lip. “Nah. You can just deliver the contract, I told you, I will sign it right away.”
“Look, I’m thankful that you are considering of signing the contract because I am your friend’s sister but—”
“Who told you that I was doing this because of Henry?” putol nito sa sinasabi ni Helise. “I have time on Monday, if you want you can accompany me to my bowling session. You can personally give the contract to me.”
“Where and what time?” she bluntly asked.
“I guess that’s a yes.” kinuha nito ang palad ni Helise at sinulat doon ang address at oras.
Tumaas ang kilay niya. How dare he made her delicate hand as a scratch!
Pagkatapos noon ay sumakay na ang binata sa loob ng sasakyan. She stared with a ridiculous expression in her face at the back of the moving car of Kalli Salvatore. Why is he acting like that?
