Chapter XVIII - The power of alcohol

HELISE almost tore down the newspaper in her hands. She was in the living room, kabababa lang ni Helise mula sa silid na tinulugan niya. Natulog lang siya saglit pero hindi niya lubos akalain na ganito na kaagad ang magiging takbo ng sitwasyon niya ngayon. The newspaper said that Tristan isn’t having an affair and she had a consent in that s•x tape because the woman Tristan with was just a surrogate mother. For sure it was her father-in-law’s idea. They wouldn’t want to let her go. D•mn it!

And what kind of bullsh•t was that? Alam niya daw ang tungkol sa affair dahil hired surrogate mother nila si Barbara? Hindi pa pinangalanan sa newspaper ang kabit ng asawa.

Pinapalabas pa ng mga ito na she was not capable of having children kaya sila nag-hire ng surrogate mother!

Binato niya iyon sa mesa. Now she really needs to f•cking turn off her phone. She needs to go offline in every social media accounts that she have.

“Your brother called.” it was Kallisto, naglalakad pababa ng hagdan.

Dito nga rin pala ito natulog kagabi.

“He said that your mother is back and wanted to talk to you.” patuloy nito.

Ooooh, great! Insert her sarcasm here.

Binagasak ni Helise ang sarili sa sofa. Nahihilo siya sa mga pangyayari. Bumaba naman ng tuluyan si Kallisto at napansin ang newspaper sa mesa.

“Do you want me to deal with them?” anito sabay kuha ng newspaper.

Nag-angat ng tingin si Helise sa binata.

“Just say a word and I will ruin them.” sabi pa nito.

Umiling si Helise na para bang alam niya ang pinapahiwatig nito. “I want the MHaR back. If you’ll ruined them..... then,”

“I will just scare them a bit, then.”

“Can you do that?”

Tumango ito. “Of course. I was getting impatient.”

Of what?

Parang narinig nito ang tanong ni Helise sa kaniyang isip.

“I want your divorce to be finalized before the end of the month.” simpleng sagot nito. “Let’s go, ihahatid muna kita kina Henry.”

Hindi siya sumagot at sumunod na lamang kay Kallisto. He said he was getting impatiend, does that mean he badly needs the land that he was talking about now? And the process of her divorce is the only hindrance. Does he needs another woman to take place as his wife?

Geez, Helise! Are you nuts? She’s thinking a lot of nonesense these days maybe because of too much stress.

Sa bahay nang kuya Henry niya naabutan ang ina na nakaupo sa living room, nagbabasa ito ng dyaryo habang suot ang LV nitong sunglasses. She looks like Audrey Hepburn in her black halter dress with matching black lace gloves.

“Kanina ka pa hinihintay ni mom.” salubong ni Henry sa kanila, binalingan nito kaagad ang kaibigan. “and you, we have to talk.”

Ngumisi naman si Kalli sa kaibigan. “Let me greet Tita Helena first.” sagot nito bago naglakad palapit sa ina ni Helise. “Good morning Tita Helena, you’re looking fabulous as always.” bati nito.

Tiniklop ng ina ni Helise ang binabasang dyaryo. “Oh, Kallisto hijo! How are you?”

“I'm good, tita. How about you?”

Umikot ang mata ng ina ni Helise at eksaheradang bumuntong hininga.

“I’m very much stress right now, and you know why.” bumaling ito ng tingin kay Helise.
