I entered my sister's office, the smell of old dust and books filling my nose. "God, you need to clean up this place—" I coughed, waving my hand back and forth in front of my face to stop the dust from coming into my nose. I touched her side table, checking to see how much dust had collected. "This must have been collecting for a month. Why don't you call housekeeping or something?"

She massaged her temples, stretching out her skin to stop the wrinkles and lines from appearing. "Sorry, I didn't even notice all of this..." she said. "It's just... I've been extremely busy." I explored the room, looking for a duster. Finally, I was able to find one in a small closet that was in the corner of Mei's office.

"You've been working really hard lately. Why don't you take a break?" I asked, standing on my toes to reach the top of the large cupboard.

"I can't rest. Not until the shinobi I sent on a mission come back safely. And not until I know the six-tails jinchuriki has been secured." She laid her head on the table, barely able to keep her eyes open. "I just hope they don't come in contact with the Akatsuki. It's my job to protect the six-tails and our shinobi against danger, even if they aban..." She drifted off into sleep.

She was clearly tired. The eye bags under her eyes and her lack of presence at home were evident and apparent. And, whenever Mei was tired, she would overshare or give out information she wasn't supposed to. That's why she was giving me details on the mission and talking about her concerns.

When I was young, Mei would always end up spoiling surprises for me. Since Mei got tired easily, she would usually try to sleep at 10 P.M. On the nights before my birthday, Mei would stay up till midnight with me. And although she tried her best not to say anything revealing any surprises, she would end up telling me what my gift was and what she had planned for my birthday.

I looked over at my sister. She was drooling on her desk, wetting the paperwork that lay underneath her resting head. I thought of moving it, but there was no way I would touch her drool. I'll just leave it there. It'll dry later. I thought, disregarding it completely.

I continued dusting, making sure the place was spotless. "God damn, the amount of filth in this room is outrageous. Who would make an office building for the leader of the Hidden Mist Village without hiring a cleaning crew or some sort of housekeeping?" I furiously mopped.

After an hour or so, I was finally done. "My best work yet!" I said, flicking my hair to the side as a way to flaunt. Ironically, there was no one around or awake to see me flaunting my cleaning skills.

My sister was still fast asleep. Even though she was in a deep sleep, I thought that she should at least be comfortable. It would be better if she had a place to sleep here.

I think I should ask the two Anbu guards outside of my sister's office. I thought, opening the door and shutting it slowly.

Two people, one tall man, and a woman of average height stood next to each other, guarding the office. They were both from the Anbu and were wide awake, ready to strike at any moment if the Mizukage was potentially threatened. "Hey. Do you know if there's anywhere to sleep here?" I asked.

"Yeah, there's guest suites on the third floor, Lady Y/n." one of them said, pointing to the ceiling. He meant the floor above us since we were on the second floor.

"Yuji, first drop the formalities. Second, I was hoping you could help me take my sister there. She fell asleep." I explained.

He nodded. "Sure, Lady Y/n."

Yuji and I lowered my sister onto the bed of the guest suite. I grabbed the covers, pulling them over her so she wouldn't get cold.
