POV - Hangetsu:

I was in one of the forests in the disputed land. I was far away from the Land of Water so I was somewhat uncomfortable. Almost two of our three teams had been completely wiped out.

Team A was annihilated while a quarter of Team C remained. Luckily, my team, Team B, hadn't been attacked yet. This team's leader was Tsurugi, who was supervising the whole mission. Even though I was with the leader, I was still not at ease.

The Akatsuki knew we were here. And they knew our intentions. A clash was going to happen with them very soon. I didn't know if I was ready for that, though.

Tsurugi had sent the Mizukage a plea for backup, but they weren't here yet. I was concerned they weren't coming at all.

If Lady Y/n knew how many of the shinobi had died already, she would freak out. She would've not let me go if she foresaw this happening.

"Tsurugi," a sensor-type ninja called out. He pushed through the shinobi that were in front of him. "I sense ominous chakra nearby..." he whispered.

"From where?" Tsurugi asked.

"From everywhere..? It's getting stronger and it's spread out. It's like it has two epicenters." he said. He paused, horror on his face. "One of them just disappeared. Half of the chakra is fully gone."

"Chakra suppression," I said under my breath. "They know we're here." I looked around us, scanning the trees. For all we could know, they could be right above us.

"Men! Stay alert!" he shouted in a whisper.

The bush rustled. All of the guys flinched. We waited anxiously to see what would come out of the bush.

A small, fuzzy vermin came out. It was a mouse.

This was a distraction. "Hey! What happened to the other epicenter of chakra?" I shouted to the sensor-type ninja.

"It's getting closer... It's a nasty chakra," he commented. We could all feel it approaching by now. And just like before, I recognized it instantly. Kisame Hoshigaki.

"I know who's coming," I said.

"That's right," a somewhat mischievous voice spoke, "you should know by now." We all slowly looked up. Even though we didn't want to believe it, the enemy had found us already.

Kisame was sitting on top of a tree branch above us. He was smiling like a shark as usual. It wasn't a pleasant smile. More like the kind that's saying, "I'm going to have fun ripping you all the shreds."

"Hangetsu, was it? We continuously bump into each other." He jumped down from the tree branch, landing swiftly onto the ground. His giant sword was still on his back. "It's nice seeing you again." He approached us slowly then stopped. "I can't believe I haven't killed you yet." He grinned. The ladies would not be fond of that grin.

No one spoke to him at all. They couldn't utter a word. They were just trying to hold their ground.

"Kisame. I see you're happy. Sadly, I'm going to have to smack that grin off your face." I taunted.

"Really? We'll see about that," he said. "I wonder what Itachi will have to say about that." He looked in my direction but he was looking at someone in the back.

I turned around. Coldly, Itachi was sitting on a large rock. He was waiting. He slowly got up, scratching his hair.

"Let's get this over with," he spoke. He was uninterested. I didn't understand how he was so unfazed. Each of the times I fought him, he was like that.
