I read the ancient ice scrolls on my desk, trying to absorb as much information from them as I could. "No, no. I've been trying to figure out how to do this jutsu, but I still haven't gotten the hang of it," I said out of frustration, tossing the scroll aside.
If only mother could teach me! I thought, hitting my head against the table. Ughhhh!
The jutsus I already knew were pretty weak. I had learned the basic ones like ice prison and ice sword. The simple stuff. Nothing effective. And the strongest ice jutsu I happened to know was Demonic Mirroring Ice Crystals—I don't even know how I managed to learn that one—which was inferior to the Sharingan. I honestly thought my jutsu guaranteed victory in battle, but I couldn't be more wrong.
I sighed. "I want to learn another ice jutsu before Han comes back." I held my face in my hands. "I wanna impress him."

"Hey, Mei. Can I talk to you?" I asked, slowly opening her room door. She nodded, patting the side of her bed, indicating for me to take a seat.
I sat next to her, resting my head on her shoulder. It was cold in her room, so I grabbed her blanket. I wrapped it around myself.
"I need your help. I need mother to teach me ice jutsus. At least the ones she's mastered. I want to get better at ice release and use it more frequently." I said to her. She sighed.
"Y/n, you've asked mother multiple times. And she has said no every time. The only thing you can do is find someone else to teach you."
"And where are we gonna find an ice user?" I asked.
"Well, since I'm the Mizukage now, I can request an ice user to come from a different land." She smirked. She flicked her long auburn hair.
"Bruh—" I blurted. "Why didn't you suggest that earlier? You should've thought of this ages ago. I could've mastered five jutsus by now. We've been wasting time. Go to the office and request someone right now!"
I pointed outside of her window to the Mizukage building. Outside, the sky was painted in orange and pink pastel shades. The sun was slowly hiding away, going for its daily twelve-hour nap. And its friend, the moon, arrived early for its shift. Today, the moon decided to dress as a waxing crescent.
The sky reminded me of sweet and sugary candy— specifically the ones colored with bright tints. "So pretty," I said, completely forgetting the subject.
"You were saying something, right?" Mei said.
"Huh? Was I?"
"Oh yeah! You need to request an ice user right now! I want to start learning as soon as possible!" I continued from where I left off earlier.
"Y/n. I can't guarantee I can get someone to teach you. But, as the Mizukage, I can definitely try." She smiled. "If only I was an ice user. Then I could teach you... Genetics can be a real pain sometimes." she shrugged.
You may be wondering why my sister isn't an ice user like me or my mother. We both have the same biological parents, but she didn't get any of my mother's traits. At least none of the physical ones. She resembles our father. In fact, you could call her the female version of our father. And although I also look a lot like my father, most of my facial features are like my mother's. I have her soft features. But, my father and sister have sharp features. We both inherited boil release and lava release from him. Those two kekkei genkai are common in the Terumi clan, but it's rare for an individual to have both. Yet, me, my sister, and my father have these two kekkei genkai.
