After hearing Medeia's confession, Haidee appeared to be struggling to keep her emotions under control. She was used to having a facade, but now she really couldn't keep her emotion in check when it comes to Medeia.
What a naive fool she is when it comes to love.
Haidee managed a small laugh to mask the turmoil she was feeling inside. She spoke with light bitterness, "Duke Dion, who are you to make decisions as you see fit?"
"I'm not finished yet, my princess," Medeia looked at her, a little annoyed that Haidee was about to burst into tears again and destroy her plan. She wanted to test both Gaian and Ines, but she didn't think Haidee couldn't read her plan.
She was about to put Gaian's true feelings for Haidee to the test while also teaching Ines a lesson but she didn't think that Haidee will misread her intention.
'That's why you have to wait for someone to finish their words before you make such a useless judgement,' In frustration, Medeia sighed and judge Haidee mentally,
'Look at that moron. She's probably thinking I'm going to cheat on her with Ines. What is wrong with her that she can't learn to be mature and simply trust me? Can't she see how many opportunities I've thrown away because of her? And look at me? Why can't I stand watching her get hurt?'
Lover's tears always work wonders, and Medeia was a victim of it.
Haidee's rage is fueled by Medeia's reaction, which appeared to her to be stoic. The effect was that it forced Haidee to speak in the ancient language of Medeia. Her hyacinth eyes conveyed the fury within her.
"What? To explain why you really need a concubine? Have you no shame to your ancestors, Duke Dion?" All of the Den Tribes were devoted to their partners, but this pervert looks likely to be a different breed.
Medeia could sense that Haidee was overflowing with emotions and that she would burst at any moment. Medeia must act quickly to calm the situation, or else even her identity as the Ancient Witch will be revealed by the unstable princess.
"What I'm trying to say is that having Princess Ines as my concubine will strengthen our Kingdom because she possesses the same qualities as Princess Haidee. It was such a waste to let Princess Ines blossom elsewhere and help other Kingdoms thrive with her talent. However, the idea of having her as my concubine only occurs to me if I want to concentrate on using her to grow the Kingdom." The voice of Medeia was deep but clear. A little smirk on her face appeared as she sense Ines glaring hard at her.
Gaian nodded as he tried to keep his mouth shut from grinning at Medeia. 'In other words, you are saving my daughter Ines from marrying a stranger and instead, let her stay and work here in the Kingdom. What a cunning man you are, Duke Dion,'
Medeia gave Haidee one more reason to calm down, "However, I am completely confident in my own ability and strength to make the kingdom prosper without the use of concubines. After all, all I need is Princess Haidee by my side. She, alone, is enough for me,"
'Put aside the Den's tradition. Me having a concubine, and that dwarf? I'm exhausted just thinking about another woman in my life. Haidee alone was enough to drive me insane!'
While Gaian noticed the argument between his daughter and Medeia was strange, yet Gaian was taking pleasure in it because he thought it was adorable. Gaian thought it was too pleasant to learn about and witness Haidee's other side. After all, Haidee was a woman who maintained her composure and never expressed her feelings. Thus, he found it amusing to see his reserved daughter's wide range of emotions and facial expressions when it involves Medeia.
