5 YEARS LATER.
"I won't be gone long and will return shortly. Be nice to your mother and don't cause her any problems. She is your Mother first and foremost, but she was also the Empress and everyone's guardian. She already has a lot on her shoulders, so save some for her. Okay?" Haidee spoke to the twins in a soft voice as she calmed them. Such a sweet voice carried a tinge of loneliness.
These twins had already pouted, attempting to keep their tears at bay.
Whatever her relationship with Medeia was, she would feel bad if the twins' relationship with their Mother was also... broken like hers.
Her heart was heavy as she watched her twins grieving, but she knew she had to leave the Empire immediately.
She needs to calm herself. Before she is going to regret whatever she was about to do.
Both Atlas and Ciel shook their heads, rhythm. "N-no! Don't leave us!"
The four years old twins were crying miserably, hugging Haidee's thighs tightly.
Haidee's heart was about to soften but a familiar voice coming from behind her had regained her sense.
It's Medeia.
A muscle in her jaw twitched before she softened her expression. She must not let Medeia notice her indifference. Because it will hinder her plan. Worst case, Medeia will not let her leave the Empire.
She must now put all of her feelings aside. She will lose everything if she makes the wrong move. Also, even her children.
She can't be reckless and follow her heart because she's a mother now.
"Can you two brats stop crying?" Medeia said, as she pulled Haidee to be close to her. Haidee was instantly separated from the two twins who were clinging to her.
Haidee was caught off guard by the firm hand securing her waist. Then, she lifted her face to meet the warmest emeralds.
Sure enough, Medeia was already staring at Haidee until her eyes caught the fresh strawberries on Haidee's luscious neck.
'I suppose that explains why she let her hair down to cover it,' Medeia thought. Unconsciously, the corner of her mouth lifted, possibly with pride.
Medeia caressed the spot before she cast a soft peck at it. Causing Haidee to be flustered, and her body shivered from the slight touch of her lover. She immediately pushed the scoundrel away.
She clenched her fists and unclenched them. She took a deep breath, not wanting to mess up. Now she was wearing the perfect mask of a wife and mother.
"Medeia! We are in front of the twins!" Haidee grunted, annoyedly.
'Sigh. You are not like that, last night.' Medeia pursed her lips briefly before she adjusted her expression. She walked closer to Haidee, and gave a soft peck at Haidee's cheek before she smiles smugly at the twins.
As if to tell them that Haidee was hers, wholly.
Atlas and Ciel suddenly stopped crying. Their Emerald eyes turned cold and hostile only to Medeia.
