-Ines's Determination-
Ines told them that she came to the Qaedel Empire to reclaim the golden trophy of the Romulus Kingdom that was stolen from her.
No one, including Gaian, was aware that the golden trophy at the Kingdom was a forgery! So, for her own good, Ines have to get back the real one!
(a.n; in case my lovely reader forgets, the golden trophy is the trophy into which Romulus placed all of the ashes of the Den Tribe as a symbol of his victory. The people of Romulus Kingdom, on the other hand, are unaware of this. They only thought it was a gift from the Goddess to punish the evil tribe... The trophy was stolen from Ines after she took it out in secret.)
Aside from wanting to get the trophy back, the truth is, what made Ines to be determined was that she finally found the witch who taught her everything she need to know about life. She learned so many things from the gentle witch, everything, in just a short time.
The witch, who also happened to be Emperor Aiken, also, happened to be the one who stole her heart and body.
Though, there's no way she could tell that part to Haidee.
She found her when the Qaedel Armies intruded the Romulus Kingdom. To her surprise, the witch was dressed in majestic Emperor's attire instead of her usual commoner attire. That witch was riding a big dark horse that stood out from the others. A stallion, maybe.
Her eyes were too preoccupied with Aiken, until she swears that their eyes met despite the distance. Ines had no idea who the emperor was at first. When that emperor smiled at her, the shameful memories between the two of them were brought back.
That's when Ines realized that the Emperor was the same person as the witch.
Even though her eyes were the colour of the forest, they were as cold as the winter. When Ines remembered the warmth she had given her, her demeanour was very different from what she had expected. As cold as winter can get, that person represented that description perfectly.
That, Aiken.
Despite the rumoured about Gaian defeating the intruders from Qaedel, it was not true at all. In fact, the intruders left the Romulus Kingdom because Aiken command them to. It is safe to say that due to Aiken's grace, Gaian was able to reclaim his throne.
The Romulus Kingdom and the Qaedel Empire have not resumed their respective wars since the last ambush on Haidee and Medeia's wedding. It was as if Qaedel's provocation had never occurred. But there were some who thought Gaian was a coward King because of his cowardice in failing to strike back.
That didn't stop Ines from making the decision to visit the Qaedel empire.
She disguised herself as a court lady. Fortunately, she was appointed as Empress Dowager's personal assistant. Despite this, Aiken was still unaware of her existence.
Since she hides herself so well.
Or it could be that Aiken never once visited her own grandmother. There were so many beautiful noble women surrounding Aiken that perhaps a court lady was not the best match for an Emperor? Or perhaps it was because Ines was insignificant enough to be forgotten by Aiken.
