Judging voices filled the hall once more. How could a nameless commoner stand in front of the Emperor and not bow? Even the other Kings will bow at their Emperor. Besides, the commoner didn't even use honorific!
In the eyes of the law, a man without a name was a slave. This is a tier beneath Commoner.
Because of that, everyone was protesting the nameless man to become their prince consort. Though actually, they were thinking that perhaps they are chances for them to steal the place of becoming the prince consort.
"ENOUGH!" Aiken finally spoke in a cold, authoritative voice. The noises disappear right away.
While their Emperor looked calm, they couldn't deny the fact that Emperor Aiken was indeed the only prince in Qaedel history who killed his own father.
Aiken was definitely sitting at her majestic chair and was looking down at the audience and the commoner. But it felt like the commoner was the one looking down at her.
Aiken took a deep breath before she adjusted her smile. 'So, Ailee's new plaything is a slave? Rude and arrogant one at that. Well, it will be much easier to handle someone like him.'
"Raise your face. I want to see what kind of a man that... Have such luck to be Ailee's prince consort." Ailee was shivering at the sarcastic tone of Aiken's voice.
It was then that Ailee moved forward, covering Medeia from Aiken's sight. "Your highness, Emperor Aiken. It's not very convenient for my prince consort to open his mask. Not in front of everyone,"
"Princess Ailee," Aiken said. "I don't think I was talking to you?" Aiken was smiling as she said that, causing a shudder in Ailee who still couldn't deny Aiken's power over her. Aiken then gestured her hand, to invite Medeia to open her mask.
However, a loud voice screamed from behind Aiken and Medeia, ruining their interaction. "He can't become the Prince Consort!"
"Okay, this is getting interested." Aiken caught a glimpse of something interesting happening. The audience roared, half of them booing and the other half expressing wild approval for whatever it was.
Ailee, who was wearing a princess's expression, tensed at the sight of a court lady standing boldly to disturb them. If it weren't for her fear of Aiken, she would kill the court lady right away. Secretly, Ailee gave a signal to the knights to throw the court lady away.
Medeia followed Ailee's gaze. It took all of her newfound willpower not to shriek in horror.
It was Haidee, who was circled by the knights that were obviously taller and bigger than her.
Medeia nearly rush to throw herself between them. But she met with Ines's eyes that were telling her 'Don't. You'll make it worse.'
"He won't be able to become the prince consort, because he is my husband. He came here in order to have a reason to enter the palace and bring me back."
Aiken could see that Ailee was trembling in madness, and in any seconds, she could lose it.
If Ailee kills everyone with her snakes, it will be bad for her. The position she worked so hard to get will crumble in an instant. No, Aiken will not allow it to happen right now. Not when she still needs the Emperor's position to get what she wants.
Thus, she instructed her officers to end the prince consort selection event. In any moment, all the candidates, including the audience forced to leave the palace. Even Ines was forced to leave with the other ladies.
