The bell of the little shop ringed as you made your way inside, closing your black umbrella and leaving it by the door as you made your way to your usual booth. You dropped your bag on the seat before going to the counter to order.

"Y/n! What a surprise!" You smiled at the cashier, knowing that it was in fact not a surprise. You've been to the bakery every day for the past three weeks. It had a quiet atmosphere and was the perfect place to study for your upcoming exams; the delicious pastries also being a plus.

"Hey Sunghoon," you said while grinning at the cute boy. You couldn't deny that he was attractive, but you had no romantic feelings for the boy. He wasn't your type.

"Did I hear Y/n?" Speaking of your type. You blushed as Jake came out from the back, a pink apron with cupcakes on it tied around his waist. There were specks of frosting in his hair and all you wanted to do was run your hand through his soft locks. Stop it Y/n. That's weird. "Hello? Earth to Y/n? Did you hear me?" Jake's voice brought you out of your thoughts.

"Huh," you said like an idiot. You internally facepalmed at your stupidity. Jake smiled at you though, finding it cute that you were staring at him. Do they like me too? "I'm sorry what were you saying?" In your peripheral vision, you noticed Sunghoon had moved away to take the order of another customer that had walked in.

"I asked you what you would like to order today?"

"Oh! Uh, I'll try the lemon cake today." After Jake rang up your order and you paid you made your way to your table, preparing to study. After about 5 minutes, Sunghoon brought out your cake, setting it down beside your books, careful to not disturb your studies. You looked up and mouthed a word of thanks to him, bringing the plate closer to you. Your mouth watered a little bit at the visuals of the cake. You were about to take a bite when you noticed the note on the side. You smiled at it, thinking back to the first time you received one.

"Thanks, Sunghoon!" You said without looking up from your books.

"No problemo Y/n," he said while walking away. It was only when you finished the section that you were working on that you allowed yourself a bite of the red velvet cake in front of you. Before the bite entered your mouth though, you saw a small sticky note stuck on your napkin. You stared at it in confusion before calling Sunghoon over.

"Hey, is there a problem?"

"Uh, yea. This isn't mine. It was stuck on my napkin for some reason," you said while pointing at the post-it. Sunghoon smirked at you, before telling you to read it. You looked at him in confusion but did so nevertheless, picking it up to read the messy handwriting.

"Uh ok. Dear Y/n. Wait, Y/n??? That's me. This is for me!?" All Sunghoon did was nod. "Wow, ok. Dear Y/n, I heard you laugh today in school. It's officially my favorite sound in the world." You blushed as you read the note aloud. You can't believe that someone actually wrote a love note for you, or that someone liked your laugh. Your best friend always told you that you sound like a Windex bottle when you laughed. "This... it's so sweet omg! But wait, there's no name on it. How am I supposed to figure out who sent it???"

You looked up to Sunghoon who hadn't left and noticed him... smirking? "Why are you-" you gasped so loud that you caught the attention of the other people in the bakery, including Jake, who was manning the cash register. You blushed when you noticed his gaze on you, before clearing your throat and turning back to Sunghoon, lowering your voice a little. "Did... did you write me this?" You continued on before he could even answer you. "I'm sorry Sunghoon, I just don't feel that way about you. You're a great friend and if I'm being honest, I have a little crush on Jake-" you cut yourself off covering your mouth with your hands.

Sunghoon was looking at you with surprise evident in his eyes. He didn't expect you to reveal your crush to him and he definitely didn't expect it to be his co-worker and friend. Not that he was complaining though; his friend was completely smitten with you. Very much so that he begged Sunghoon to pass you the sticky note. A small smile made it's way on his face before he quickly reassured you that it was not him. You let out a sigh of relief. "Well then who is it? They go to our school? That doesn't narrow it down at all. Did they tell you to give it to me??? Tell me Sunghoon, tell me who it is." The boy just zipped his mouth closed before returning to his job.

That was a week ago. You sighed before picking up the note and reading it.

"Thank you for being the reason I smile. You make me happy in a way that no one else can," you whispered. You found yourself giggling before you could stop yourself. Sunghoon and Jake both looked over to you, one with a lovestruck smile, and another with a knowing one.

"So," Sunghoon nudged his friend with his elbow. Jake let out a yelp of pain, rubbing the spot where Sunghoon hit him. Sunghoon rolled his eyes at his friend's dramatics. "When are you going to reveal that you're the one writing the notes?" Jake looked back to you with a small smile on his face before answering his co-worker's question.

"Soon."
