Jade stood outside, having taken now an hour long walk around the land of the farm, now leant against the fencing close to the side of the farmhouse. A scoff sounded as she spotted her father walking close to her with a determined expression."What, dad?" Jade questioned once he got close enough to hear her.
"Do you know what they are doing over there in that barn?" Dale replied pointing to the barn that had previously housed the walkers. "They are murdering someone. And you were a part of it."
"Yeah, I was. I was a part of keeping myself, my niece, my brother, and you safe. I took part in killing a horrible person. I don't feel sorry, not one bit. I don't want to get raped again and I sure as hell don't want it to happen to the others." Jade explained with tears in her eyes.
"Jade, I know what has happened to you in the past. I lived through it with you every step of the way-"
"Then you should know how hard it was. How the fuck do you expect me to do it during the apocalypse?" Jade spat.
"Would you watch your mouth when speaking to me?" Dale scolded.
"Look, dad. I love you, with all my heart, and I respect you. But, you're wrong. At least with this situation. And I'm not going to change my mind on that." Jade described, turning to walk down the path that leads toward the far edge of the fence.
"Jade! Would you just have a civil conversation with me- you are my daughter." Dale pleaded, watching as Jade stopped in her tracks, staring down at a cow that was ripped open, guts pooling out of it.
"Dad-" Her words were cut off by a grunt as Dale was pushed Jade to the ground beside the cow, the girl landing in a pile of the a mix of blood and dirt.
She quickly turned, spotting a walker directly on top of her father, it's hands scratching at his torso through his tank top. "Dad!" The Horvath girl screamed as the bony fingers of the walker ripped into his stomach, just above his belly button.
"No!" Jade screamed slipping on the blood as she attempted to stand up, reaching into the back of her waistband to take out her gun, shooting the walker in the head. She pushed it off of her father, hovering on top of the man as she gasped.
"Help! Someone, please! Hershel! Help me, God!" Jade pleaded as she screamed rubbing the sides of her fathers face, smearing the mix of his own blood with the cows.
"No, daddy. Please, I'm so sorry." Jade pleaded, watching as his arm moved up, gripping onto her forearm before tapping three times with his pointer and middle finger.
Dale had always taught her that a series of three taps meant 'i love you'. So the two of them would do it as they went to bed, during serious moments of one another's lives, as Jade went into her surgeries, and so forth.
Jade sobbed as she looked down to her father, watching the pain spread through his features as the others gathered around them. "Please, Hershel, you have to help him." Jade whined as she looked up to him with teary eyes, not watching as Nick kneeled down on the other side of his father, Theodora directly by his side.
"You can save him, right? Please, tell me you can." Nick cried as he stroked the hair from his fathers sweating face.
"I'm the same blood type as him, please, Hershel." Jade begged as she stared up at the doctor.
Nick stood up, holding onto Hershel's shoulders as he spoke to the Greene, constantly pleading and coming up with many examples and possibilities to make Hershel assist him.
"Dad.. dad it's going to be okay. You're gonna be just fine, dad. Just look at me, it's okay." Jade whispered, her lower lip trembling as she spoke, holding her fathers hands. "Just focus on my voice, just look at me. I'm right here. We're all right here, dad."
"Hershel, please, we have to move him." Rick said.
"He won't make the trip." Hershel answered sadly.
"Then go get what you need to help him, dammit!" Jade spat as she glanced over at Hershel.
"Jade.." Hershel whispered with a low shake of his head.
"No.. no, no, no! There has to be a way. Please." The Horvath daughter shouted in tears. "He can't die. No, not yet."
"Jade, you have to move. He's in pain." Patricia reasoned, placing a comforting hand on Jade's shoulder.
"Don't you fucking touch me." Jade scolded as she hit the Greene's hand off of her shoulder. "He is not dying."
"Please.." Dale spoke weakly, his voice weak and quiet.
Jade glanced back over at him with tears streaming out of her eyes as she looked in confusion. "No, no. Dad, please. You'll be okay. I can't lose you, dad." The Horvath sobbed.
"Someone move her away." Rick ordered, watching as Jade's face contorted into anger.
"No, no! No, please!" Jade screamed as Shane pulled her away from her father, as he had the least emotional connection with her and could bear to hear her screams of pain.
"Please! Please, don't do this!" Jade exclaimed as Rick and Daryl whispered to one another, Daryl soon moving forward with his gun drawn.
"Sorry, brother." Daryl whispered.
