CHAPTER FORTY// ANGRY DISCUSSIONS
"CAN WE PLEASE JUST LEAVE.."ִֶָ 𓂃⊹ ִֶָ
"Did she unpack everything?"
"Yes, yes she did." Liz muttered angrily, seeing their bags empty and their stuff scattered about the room.
"Pack it all up. We're leaving today." Michonne ordered, closing the door behind her.
"What happened, are you not telling me something, Chonne?" Elizabeth questioned as she tossed a bag to Theodora, who had unofficially put herself in charge of packing the clothes.
"They had dozens of walkers, captive. I don't know why. But I don't trust it." She answered as she licked her lips with anger, a habit Liz had picked up on after being with Michonne for less than 2 weeks.
"Wait.. what? They had walkers kept captive?" Theodora questioned with slight fear in her voice.
"It was weird. They were all hidden." Michonne explained as the door opened behind her, revealing Andrea. "Come on, Andrea. We're getting out of here."
"No, I have to talk to you, Michonne. The Governor told me what happened.." Andrea started, looking around at the others frantically packing their belongings. "Michonne, you can't do things like this. You're freaking people out. You're freaking me out."
"The northeast wall is guarded by some girl. We can escape there after dark." Michonne told, passing a bag to Andrea.
"We are not prisoners here!" Andrea exclaimed.
"No one who comes here leaves, Andrea. We've been asking." Liz spoke.
"What are you two talking about? It's safe. There's food, there's shelter. There's people for God's sake. Theodora can have friends her age, don't you want that, Elizabeth?" Andrea described.
"Yeah, I do. But not here. You can't seriously believe all those bullshit lies this so-called "Governor" tells. Like when all those heavily armed guys in the military were somehow all dead when he got there?" Elizabeth argued.
"You are not making any sense!" Andrea spat. "You both need to just trust this place."
"No. You need to trust us." Michonne spoke angrily, grabbing the blonde by her biceps.
"You haven't given me anything to go on. You want to throw away something good because of some stupid gut feeling?" The blonde bickered.
"I thought this was temporary-"
"Can you please just stop arguing!" Theodora spoke up, the adults having basically forgot she was in the room. "I want to leave. Can we please just leave.."

The four of them had finally come to the agreement to walk to the gates so Andrea could see if they would truly let them leave. They trekked past small groups of people, each of them sending weird looks to the small group. "Hey, hey, hey, hey girls! Where y'all off to in such a hurry?" Merle called out before jogging after them. "Y'all breaking my heart runnin' away like that."
"We're leaving, Merle." Liz responded.
"It's almost curfew.. I'd have to arrange an escort. I mean the party's still going on." Merle explained, watching as Michonne gave him a tight glare. "All right. Wait here a second." He finished before walking towards the man guarding the gate. The two shared a few words, before Andrea stomped forward, exclaiming that they were free to leave, but was soon shoved back by Merle.
"See? There's always a reason we can't leave yet." Michonne spoke, glancing over at the two men.
"Clear! If I was y'all I'd fine some shelter before nightfall." Merle shouted as he leaned against the opening gate, opening it enough for them to be able to leave.
"They had to have known we were going to leave." Liz commented.
"This was all for show." Michonne added.
"Do you hear yourselves? How can you know that? And why would they bother?" Andrea spoke.
"Ladies?"
"Close the gates." The blonde ordered.
"No." Michonne argued.
Andrea scoffed as she looked Michonne up and down, noting her defensive stance. "I practically begged the Governor to let you stay."
"I did not ask for that.."
"You didn't have to. That's what friends do for each other. Liz, think about what you are doing. You are throwing away a good thing away for Theodora. She could finally have a place to settle down, we all will." The blonde continued.
"This place isn't good. You have to know that somewhere deep down. If you really want to stay, go ahead. But me, I'm leaving." Liz explained.
"What happened to staying together? You three are just going to disappear on me?" Andrea scolded.
"I know I am. And my niece, is coming with me. Michonne can choose for herself." The brunette replied, grabbing Theodora's hand before walking away.
"You would just slow us down anyway.." Michonne whispered in disgust as she shoved past her, quickly following the two Horvath's out of the gates.
"Guys!" Andrea screamed out as the gate slammed to a close.
Michonne flinched slightly, followed by Liz grabbing onto one of her hands for comfort. The three of them were leaving behind a friend. Liz and Theodora had known her since day 1 of this apocalypse, they were leaving behind a family member.
They knew it was for the best.
