"..WE NEED TO GET OUT OF HERE, AND QUICKLY."

Liz woke up in a hospital bed, an IV resting inside her right arm. A woman in blue scrubs was standing a few feet away, while Andrea, Michonne, and Theodora were all standing beside her bed. "What happened?" Jade questioned groggily as she sat up.

"You lost consciousness on the way here." The doctor answered before removing the IV and putting a thermometer in her mouth. "We've treated you for the flu and dehydration. How are you feeling?"

"Better, I guess." Elizabeth answered after the woman removed the thermometer.

"98.7" The doctor mumbled before turning and scribbling it down on the paper.

"Why are we being held here?" Andrea questioned.

"We're helping your friend, honey. You three have to stay at least until she's well enough. And it's dark out, you should all stay the night." The woman answered kindly.

"Where are we?" Andrea asked as she crossed her hands over her chest.

The doctor sighed as she placed a hand on her hip. "That's not for me to say. He'll talk to you."

"Who is he-" Liz started before being interuppted by Merle walking into the room.

"Why don't you go check on your patient, Doc? I bet you three were wondering if I was real. Probably hoping I wasn't. Especially you Jade, after our last talk." Merle laughed.

"You beat me and kicked me. I wouldn't exactly call that talking, Dixon." Liz replied with a scowl.

"Eh, tomato tomahto. I guess this old world gets a little smaller toward the end, huh? Ain't so many of us left to share the air, right?" He joked. "You know, when they found me, I was near bled out. Starving. Thinking to myself a bullet might make a good last meal. Take myself a nice long nap after. Wait for Daryl on the other side. You seen my brother?"

"Not for a long time." Liz answered sadly. "We got left behind, 'cus of a herd. I don't know if any of them are still alive."

"Hmm. Makes two of us."

"He went back for you. We all did. But, we were too late. I.. I'm sorry, Merle. We all felt horrible about what happened." Elizabeth spoke with a small smile.

"Well not all of me." Merle spoke with a chuckle, revealing the stump from where he had removed his own hand. "What was his name.. Rick. Yeah, he's that prick that cuffed me to the rooftop.

"We all tried to get you back. Daryl saw that, he understood what we did." The Horvath explained as she began to get teary-eyed as she spoke of her former group.

"He's always been the sweet one, my baby brother."

"He tried to keep looking, but things happened. I got kidnapped, a lot of people died. Amy, Jim, Jacqui, Sophia, my dad.. and who knows who else." Liz described sadly.

"Your father, right?" Merle questioned, watching as she nodded. "He was a good guy. I'm sorry for your loss."

"Thank you, Merle. A lot more people than that died. We left Atlanta. Ended up on this farm. Daryl.. he stepped up. Helped protect us. He was a valued member of the group."
