CHAPTER FORTY-SIX// BACK HOME
"I'M ALWAYS RUNNING MY MOUTH
TO THE WRONG PEOPLE."

Pulling up to the prison was nerve-wrecking. She hadn't seen her friends and family for so many months, with Glenn, Rick, and Daryl it wasn't something she could be anxious or worried about; she was simply thrown into seeing them again. Liz worried about how much they had all changed. From her brief knowledge, they were on the road, alike to herself, for most of their time apart.

As Rick drove up to the gate, Carol and Carl were standing there. He had grown so much, he was a lot taller, his hair was much longer, and he seemed much skinnier. Carol looked about the same, but how she carried herself was different. She stood up straight, she had a smile on her face as they drove up, and she held her weapon with confidence.

Her leg bounced up and down as Rick got out of the car to greet his son and Carol while Glenn moved into the drivers seat and drove them further into the prison. She nervously chewed at her bottom lip as they drove through the final gate, stopping in a courtyard of sorts.

Glenn glanced back as he turned the car off, knowing that Liz was still upset at what he said. Michonne caught his eye, as Elizabeth was staring out the window, the woman nodded, silently telling Glenn that she would make sure she would be okay. He slowly got out of the car, heading up the door to tell everyone they were back.

"Hey, everything's going to be okay." Michonne told as she slightly shifted in her seat to look at Liz.

"I don't know why I'm so nervous. I mean.. I mean these people are my family." Liz replied, still keeping her gaze set at the brick wall to the right of her.

Michonne sighed, reaching over to grab the brunette's hand. "Exactly. They all love you, and are going to be so happy to see you." She explained. "Ready?"

Liz nodded, quickly moving her hand and opening the door before she could second guess again. As soon as she stood, the door burst open. Her head whipped to the side as she stood, her gaze finally finding the large metal door where her brother stood.

A smile broke out on Nick's face as he took off in a sprint, practically tripping over his own feet as he ran. Elizabeth smiled, wildly, as he approached her before wrapping his arms around her abdomen and slightly picking her up off the ground as he squeezed her tight. She shoved her face into his shirt, her face beginning to hurt from how much she was smiling as he leaned down, placing her feet back down on the ground.

"I can't believe you're alive." Nick said, his voice cracking as he did so.

"Like I've said, I'm not easy to get rid of." Liz teased.

"Aunt Liz!" Theodora shouted as she exited the building with Maggie right behind her.

Elizabeth knelt down as Theodora launched herself into her aunt's arms, crying into the older woman's shoulder as tears slowly streaked down Liz's face. Nick squatted down beside them, grabbing both of his family members in a large hug as they relished in the fact they were all together again.

"Why did you make Michonne take me away? I could've helped you!" Theodora complained as she pulled back, looking to her aunt with angry eyes.

Liz laughed as she grabbed her niece's shoulders, holding onto her tightly. "I know you could've, Theo. But, who would've helped Michonne, hmm? You had to protect her." She explained looking up at Michonne, who moved to stand beside them.

Theodora only just then noticed the other woman's presence, moving over to give her a hug as well. Liz stood, with help from Nick, who then noticed a handprint-sized bruise on her forearm. "What happened over there?" Nick asked quietly as the others formed a small group, waiting to hug and greet Elizabeth.
